This is my understanding of it as well.
But I can't confirm.

Could this be confirmed by someone? If this is the case, the PIN acts mostly as a fix to hacked accounts... The majority of players use their PIN at the beginning of their day, thus making this safety-PIN irrelevant. If it is a forced-PIN separated from the bank-PIN, we finally have a great solution to the problem.
I will test this with my other account later today.
Seer of War I can confirm that you are right and in my opinion it shouldn't work the way it is right now.

Bank pin will protect your clan and account if someone hacks it. He/she will not be able to leave clan without bank pin. But I think that Jagex doesn't understood what we really needed. That we only want to protect usself from our own stupid mistakes.

Thanks Mod Matthe. Requiring bank pin in this specific situation (when attempting to leave a clan) would solve the vast majority of accidental departures

I'd suggest making a Bank PIN entry mandatory regardless of session time, and triple-checking would be OK.

Anywhere appropriate in the settings menus, community maybe, its by far the best solution.

1. stops accidental leaving as mentioned in this thread without the need for over complicating security

2. separates it from the leave clan chat

3. in legacy it would allow for more space so we dont have to open that extras thing

This idea was highly supported a few times.
