This is less of a suggestion, and more of "how would you feel if...."

Let's say the Clan Avatar and Anagogic Orts were made F2P. In order to be summoned, a P2P clan member would have to go into the Citadel, summon it, and then hop to a F2P server for it to be used by free players. Only a few buffs could be used by free players, marked in
red
:

Heal Over Time

Familiar Faces
Auto Ort
Skill Plot Bonus
Skilling Bonus

Random Resurrection
Protector


Keep in mind, Anagogic Orts would become F2P, and would still need to be used to activate the buffs. I think this could be really beneficial for both F2P and clans that have a mostly F2P base, but can still maintain a Citadel.

This sounds like a really nice idea and I wouldn't really mind it, especially for clans that aim to engage P2P & F2P communities.

There are a few problems though.

Firstly, you'd be giving F2P players bits of citadel benefits and rewards (i.e. avatar/buffs) when they don't really have access to citadel content. They would be directly reaping the fruits of content that they don't even have access to and aren't able to participate in. The purpose of the avatar is to serve as a reward from the citadel you have contributed to (or are able to contribute to) through participating in the citadel by upkeeping/upgrading (through gathering resources, visiting etc), as a thanks for your time and effort (or the ability) to be involved in citadel content.

Also, I'm not sure any P2P player would be willing to hold the avatar on an F2P world as it gives them no personal benefit at all, which even if done would be for very brief amounts of time and hence rendering avatar/buffs for F2P players meaningless and not really worth it. :/

It would only be beneficial for clans that are mainly or completely F2P-based and are able to maintain a citadel, as you stated, but they are very exceptional and specialist cases.

Personally, I dislike the idea of making only partial parts of Clan Citadel to F2P. In the case of any Citadel content, it should be either all-or-nothing.

It would probably have a negative affect on Clans if you needed a P2P Clanmate to summon the Avatar, and place it in a F2P world.

Furthermore, it does not feel very fair that F2Pers who have P2P friends can get a direct gameplay advantage like that.

Free to play doesnt need any more content. That is why you need to pay. If you give f2p more content you are devaluing the membership that people pay for.

I agree F2P doesn't need more content, but since half of F2P content has been broken for the past 3 years I'd say we rather need some fixing. In terms of active content the F2P game has lost quite alot over the past years. "Let's make F2P as poor as possible" doesn't seem to be a very good strategy to make RuneScape more popular.
