It is a very common problem for leaders to try to talk to a clan member in their CC and get no response, due to the no response it feels as if you are being ignored. However, that member can be AFK, bossing, or whatever.

What if members were able to set and adjust their in game status so that it showed what they were doing in game? An icon would be displayed next to that said member that showed what status they had.

Some status ideas:
-Active
-AFK
-Do not disturb
-Bossing
-Questing
...etc.

This way leaders would be able to tell what their members were doing, and it would show who is available to do activities.

Honestly this would be cool for in general--like, on friends lists and on clan channel lists :)

Oftentimes when I'm at the abyss and watching a video, I'll have to repeat every so often, "afk'ing at abyss and watching Parks and Rec." Othertimes I'll be doing a quest, and am preoccupied with cutscenes, dialogue, and boss battles.

Hmm, but it would only prove helpful for those who choose to make use of the status options. My guess is that the majority of players wouldn't think to change a CC-activity-setting to "AFK" before doing something that might cause them to be slower to reply to messages.

Plus, it wouldn't always necessarily be an accurate reflection of someone's "activity" if they don't keep it updated (similar to the already-existing examine status messages). Someone could change their status to "AFK" when they're off to get something to eat and forget about it for several days afterwards, or someone who changes their status to "Questing" could complete their quest and never think to change their status message back to "Active" or something else.

The same sort of thing could also be said for the examine status messages we have already, but I don't think those are really used to actually keep track of players' activity (I wouldn't ever think to check the examine message of someone next to me before saying hello, for example).

Maybe have it reset on log out?

My concern would be people not actively using it, like with the Examine setting. You could end up with people set to "afk" for months on end, or "active" because they forgot to change it before going fishing. @Lisaa_RS - Followed by @Runescape

I just don't think many people would really use such a feature (I could be wrong). I agree that it is a cool idea in itself, just like the examine status settings.

Agreed with this, Skype is pretty good at online statuses, though. For Runescape, maybe;

- "Questing" if you're either doing a quest or within 5 minutes of doing a quest (talking to quest related NPC's, doing quest related tasks, going to the GE to purchase a quest item hence the 5 min buffer).

- "Not paying attention to screen" if you're not picking up drops and not chatting for at least 5 minutes. Pressing keybinds is okay though, I alternate betwen 9 and 8 when I melee at abyss because those are my AOE abilities.

Skilling statuses can have their own, eg "Training Divination," "Runecrafting," or "Fishing," where you're either AFK or not, but at least people know that training certain skills can be more afk than others.

My idea aswell. But I like the suggestion, mayne not an icon but a hover-over thing - that when u hover over that persons name u get their status idea.

Perhaps if it can update auto it would be nice... I think the Questing one is a bit too hard to get.

Maybe just do:
- Skilling (when training a non combat skill)
- Combat (when training a combat skill , maybe include slayer)
- Idle (when training no skills)

And perhaps an add if talking like 'Talkative' / 'Silence'
