I hope it is rare but just spotted a clan where leadership is fine with having scammer in the clan. Through the years, when ever I needed to talk to fellow clanleader about scam, they all were attentive and helpful. It didn't happen often but when ever I had reason to discuss it or someone talked to me, we always solved it as good as possible.

In best cases we made scammers trade back the items, I've been always very happy when it went well.

But today, it was different. If you want printscreens they are in clanleaders discord.

Someone pm'd me: Do you know a guy named ... I replied: Years ago I had him added because of P v M. She said: I lent my Staff of Sliske to him, he added barrows dye to it and won't give it back, deleted me from the list, etc.

I said: Did you contact with his clanleader? She said: Yes I did but they don't care.

So my friend who was in Teamspeak with me when I talked to the victim, he contacted to the clan leaders and it's true, they don't care... Hard to believe it after being clanleader over 10 years. Don't they sense this kind of people are bad influence to the clan, also ready to scam many others if they didn't hesitate to scam helpful and good hearted p mod lady, also, why, just why would you accept such a company around you?

This scammer guy likes to do some team bosses like A o D and Vorago. I'm sure he gets banned in number of P v Ming fc's but can't be sure it affects him. He can just camp Telos or find some teamers who don't know him.

Sad story anyways, our hands are short.

Well i mean clearly the clan isnt set up for community its probably set up solely for pvm in that sense i dont really see why they should care if people in the clan are scammers its not exactly their responsibility to babysit people who are giving out their items.

Also how does a p mod not know this by now?

Yes, some people are too trusting and helpful, they can get burnt.
But it's our job as a clan leaders to care for community.

It wasn't my clan, it wasn't related to me, the person who pm'd never been in my list before but I did my fair part to fix the situation. Me and friends brought so much attention to it that the scammer gave up and returned the Staff of Sliske.

This is something you can do too, if you care.

It's not only because of yours and your clans safety but think of it - how much good you do when you teach someone in game what is right and what's wrong. It would save them from many troubles in game and in real life, they would keep their good helpful friends instead of losing them and avoid all the hate and shame.

I'm mother of two, to me my fellow RuneScape players ain't much different than friends in real life and my own kids. I wish the best to them all.

We don't allow trust trades and clan members are well aware anything that is against the rules of Runescape can and will be reported, on top of this any scamming or luring has a hefty penalty with phishers and botters getting an instant dismissal from the clan, we need to protect the majority and if we have 1 causing upset and distress to alot of clan members then we will need to deal with that 1

If you have any concerns regarding anyone from my clan please contact us and we will look into it further along with raising concerns with any evidence you can provide no names will ever be given to the individual involved, we will keep that between the key ranks while we discuss the issue

Reading the comments you are right were not babysitters and following a 120 people around isn't possible either but as a community clan working together and making rs something people want to enjoy means we do expect a certain level of care

I know it sounds bad but be happy if it's just scamming and doesn't go any further. Our hands are truly short but Jagex' power doesn't reach far enough either (or they choose not to use it).
