I find this extremely annoying as well and i fully support your idea. When i have new recruits join and i am trying to explain things about the clan, it ends up very choppy, ugly, and hard to read. The size of my chat bar leaves room for 2 words to flow underneath the first line, where i could make it smaller that doesn't really help me. Having it at least be slightly larger of a limit would be nice. I don't see why private chat size is too much for clan chat, but do understand for public chat purposes.
