How to read the fc title
The fc title represents the first and second slot runes, since the third slot is random.
Slot 1 = First rune in the fc title
Slot 2 = One of the 2nd, 3rd or 4th abbreviations in the title will be your correct 2nd slot
Slot 3 = Random, therefore not represented in the title

Abbreviations and the # of runes used are in the forth post below

This guide shows you the base price of each rune, and my recommendations on which runes to use.

Magic guild store, first floor of the Magic guild in Yanille (need level 66 Magic)
Baba Yaga's Magic Shop in Lunar Isle (need quest, Lunar Diplomacy)

Ali Morrisane northeast of the silk trader and Faruq in Al-Kharid (need quest, The Feud; then also need miniquest, Rogue Trader)

- Each try will increase the rune cost by 0.5%.

How do you determine when runes are doubled?

When alternative rune calls conflict consistently, that suggests that a slot 2 rune is doubled.

How do you determine what's a good alt?

Step 1: Find the wax output. This is done by swapping runes with the best rune and checking the difference in wax output.
Step 2: Compare the difference in price of buying all runes in GE with the difference in value of wax output. Price checks should be done at GE with live ge prices but prices should not be posted in chat, only the alt and its output. Confirming/rejecting these calls will be done by members in the chat. (e.g. fire 29/30)

Examples:

Rune 1 may cost 50k and produce 30/30 wax.
Rune 2 may cost 70k and produce 22/30 wax.
Clearly, rune 2 is not a good alt.

Rune 1 may cost 110k and produce 30/30 wax.
Rune 2 may cost 22k and produce 29/30 wax.
Clearly, rune 2 is a good alt and the fc should be made aware.

Rune 1 may cost 50k and produce 30/30 wax.
Rune 2 may cost 43k and produce 29/30 wax.
Both runes are close to equal in profit so other factors may influence choice such as whether or not people have the runes already or how easy it is to obtain in ironman, therefore the alt may be called in the chat.

How do I use the fc as an ironman?

The fc accomodates for ironmen by keeping track of alts that are easier to obtain for ironmen than other runes such as elemental runes over combination runes. Most fc users are not ironmen so on days when runes are unfavourable to ironmen, you may have to check the thread or ask in the chat for ironmen alternatives. Come join "The Nut House" Vis Wax Fc

Noob King's guide to the mysterious slot 3


1. Start out by using elemental runes and mind / chaos, theese are the cheapest runes and will be the most profit per wax, if the wax is really low with theese you can continue trying other runes. (Refer to post 2 for prices of runes)

2. Try the runes you have in slot 1 and 2 just to see if that might be it and if you would be better off with a different alt for thoose slots.

3. If you at this point still havent found a "Good" rune try using death / Cosmic / Nature / Law / Astral.

Now if you are confused which ones is the best to use still then this is the way to calculate it:

Lorijn made a quick guide for a run through magic shops in Gielinor :


There are 6 runes shops with 1K elemental stocks. These are :

1 -Wizard guild shop at Yanille, first floor of the Wizard's guild.
2 - Void Knight Magic Store in Void Knights' Outpost.
3 - Baba Yaga's Magic Shop on Lunar Isle.
4 - Tutab's Magical Market in Ape Atoll.
5 - Mage of Zamorak in the Southern Wilderness mining site.
6 - Lundail's Arena-side Rune Shop in Mage Arena.

The 3 easiest shops to find are the first on the list. Wizard guild is easy to get to if your house is located in Yanille, alternatively use Yanille lodestone. Use port Sarim lodestone for the void knight's outpost shop and lunar lodestone which is unlocked after the lunar diplomacy quest to get to Baba Yaga's shop. Come join "The Nut House" Vis Wax Fc
