What are Crystal Trees?
Crystal trees are the highest level trees in runescape. A minimum level of 94 in woodcutting is required to cut them. They do not give any resources, only experience. There are 7 crystal trees. Only one crystal tree is active at one time. They stay active for 2 hours and as soon as one becomes inactive, another crystal tree at a different location goes active instead. When looked at an inactive tree, you will receive a message telling you in which direction the active tree is.
The Crystal Tree's re-spawn time is usually the same on every world (not always though). The locations are different.

Crystal Tree locations

Light - Lighthouse
East of Lighthouse. Fastest way is to run from Relleka house teleport. Alternatively teleport to Barbarian Outpost using a games necklace and run north over the stone pillars.

Seers - Seers’ Village
North of Seers' flax field. Fastest way is to teleport to Camelot. Alternatively you can run from Seer's lodestone.

Fally - Falador
West of Falador, at the Dark Wizards' Tower. Teleport to Falador, run west and hop over the shortcut in the wall.

Brim - Brimhaven
North of the Brimhaven lodestone/house portal. Can run from either to get there quickly.

Yan - Yanille
South of Yanille's south wall. Run south east from the Yanille lodestone.

Obs - Observatory
Slightly north west of the Observatory. Teleport to Castle Wars by using a ring of duelling and run far north, over the little bridge.

Gnome - Tree Gnome Stronghold
Near the Gnomeball arena. Teleport to the Mobilising Armies spirit tree using a ring of duelling and teleport to the stronghold, then run north west. Alternatively take the spirit tree at the Grand Exchange or run all the way from the Ardougne lodestone.


Note that you can use a skilling portal in the Max Garden to teleport directly to the active Crystal Tree location.

Fastest Ways to the Crystal Tree Locations

Tree Gnome Stronghold
Use the ring of dueling to teleport to Mobilising Armies, use the spirit tree to teleport to Tree Gnome Stronghold and run northwest.
Alternative - Take the spirit tree at the Grand Exchange or run all the way from the Ardougne lodestone.

Lighthouse
Relleka house teleport or teleport tab and run west.
Alternative - use the games necklace to teleport to Barbarian Outpost and run north over the stone pillars.

Seers’ Village
Camelot teleport and run south
Alternative - run southeast from the Seers’ Village lodestone.

Falador
Teleport to falador / falador lodestone, run southwest and hop over the wall.

Brimhaven
Brimhaven house teleport or teleport tab and run north.
Alternative - run north from the brimhaven lodestone.

Yanille
Run southeast from the Yanille lodestone.

Observatory
Use the ring of dueling to teleport to Castle Wars and run north.

How to find the New Location
If you find an inactive crystal tree, right-click the tree to look at it - it will lean in the direction of the currently active tree.

Sketch of the Locations

While cutting crystal trees, crystal geodes might be dropped on the ground. They stay on the ground for 30 seconds. The geodes can contain uncut gems, but they can, very rarely, also contain crystal seeds or crystal triskelion fragments.
Items to increase the chance of getting a crystal geode:
1. Tree-shaking scrimshaw: increased chance by 300% and lasts for 3 hours.
2. Superiour tree-shaking scrimshaw: increased chance by 400% and lasts for 4 hours.
3. Strung rabbit foot

Loot from 2.5K crystal geodes:
371 sapphires - 15%
479 emeralds - 19%
764 rubies - 30%
741 diamonds - 29%
132 dragonstones - 5%
5 crystal seeds - 0.2%
8 crystal triskelion fragments - 0.32% (*1 in 300)

Note: The scrimshaws also increase the chance of finding implings. These range from essence implings to kingly implings. Implings found using the scrimshaw last 5 minutes before despawning and are only visible to the wearer of the scrimshaw. It’s suggested that you bring impling jars for maximum profit.

Woodcutting Boosts

Lumberjack outfit: 5% bonus xp for the full set (takes around 6-10 hours to get)
Beaver: invisible +2 woodcutting boost
God Banner: visible +2 woodcutting boost
Perfect Juju Potion: +5% xp

Stealing creation: ~185k bxp per hour (can differ a lot depending on how fast games go)
Do not buy proto-tools, instead buy a volatile tool and revert it back untill you get a hatchet. You can then keep recharging that hatchet.

Calculation
Non-combat SC game = 11 mins.
= 5.5 games per hour = 126 points per hour
= 6.3 volatile tools per hour = 6.3 x 29,340 = 185k bonus xp per hour
(do not buy proto-tools, instead buy a volatile tool and revert it back untill you get a hatchet. then you can keep recharging that hatchet)


Boosts that do NOT work on Crystal Trees:
- Lumberjack aura
- Log-splitting scrimshaw
- Woodcutting urns

Woodcutting XP Rates

Xp rates per hour and comparison:

Dragon hatchet (base xp rate): 100k xp
Dragon hatchet and lumberjack outfit: 105k xp
Dragon hatchet, lumberjack outfit and juju potion: 110k xp
Dragon hatchet, lumberjack outfit, juju potion and nearby clan avatar: 117k xp

Crystal hatchet (base xp rate): 113k xp
Crystal hatchet and lumberjack outfit: 119k xp
Crystal hatchet, lumberjack outfit and juju potion: 125k xp
Crystal hatchet, lumberjack outfit, juju potion and nearby clan avatar: 132k xp

Crimson skillchompas add around 40k xp per hour on top of the dragon hatchet xp rates. Around 1500 skillchompas are used per hour.

Evil trees
Evil magic tree: 175k xp
Evil elder tree: 240k xp

Divine yew trees
~ 100k xp in 10-12 minutes with 100% extended daily cap

Ivy
Dragon hatchet (base xp rate): 80k xp
Crystal hatchet (base xp rate): 92k xp

Clan citadel tree
105k xp (base xp rate)

Tested at level 99 with tier 6 tree plot and fealty level 3. This does not include the bonus xp from the Quartermaster. 560 xp drops per hour so you can easily work out the xp/hr for yourself.

Arctic pines with woodcutting urns
With lumberjack outfit:
Dragon hatchet: 110k xp (+27k fm xp with inferno adze)
Crystal hatchet: 119k

The T4 lumberjack aura increases these xp rates by around 12% and the log-splitting scrimshaw by another 5% or so. Making arctics up to 139k xp/hr.

Dungeoneering (Complexity 2) woodcutting + fishing
85-120k woodcutting xp per hour and 64-90k fish xp per hour
(can differ a lot depending on luck and speed)

Prifddinas (Elf City Information)

In the elf city of Prifddinas, anyone able to enter the Max Guild, is granted a single crystal acorn on their first visit. The cystal acorn is also a rare drop from crystal implings.

A crystal tree starts to grow immediately when the acorn is planted in the crystal tree farm patch. This is located on the south east balcony in the Tower of Voices, and requires level 94 farming, it gives 30k xp on planting.

24 hours from planting the tree, or harvesting a blossom, a new crystal blossom will grow. The harvesting gives 15k farming xp ( this can be increased using bonus xp). The tree cannot be chopped down like the usual crystal trees outside of Prifiddinas.

The garden of the Max Guild holds a skill portal which can be attuned to take you to the live crystal tree on that world.

Ranking System

Ranks will be given to those who are active and helpful in the FC.
This includes:
1. Announcing the locations of active crystal trees regularly.
2. Maintaining the friendly chat atmosphere so that we can be happy woodcutters.

FriendChat Rules

1. Follow all Jagex rules .
2. Help locate trees and announce locations in chat when required.
3. Be polite at all times. Respect the other players using the chat channel.
4. Don't spam the chat. Off-topic conversations are allowed but should be paused when locations are being announced.
5. Let ranks handle any problems that arise. Do not cause arguments or flame.
6. Do not advertise or recruit for other clan chats.

If you break any fc rules or Jagex rules you will be kicked or banned from the friend chat. We do not kick for no reason and wish to maintain a fun and relaxing chat atmosphere for fellow woodcutters to enjoy chopping trees all day. The ranks that have the power to kick have been chosen carefully and are trusted.
