I have tried to hunt the Arcane apoterrasaur to get its meat but I have the bait in my pack and use the pad to have the Arcane apoterrasaur appear for me to hunt but I always get the message that the Arcane apoterrasaur saw me and ran away. The cut scene shows me running away. I'm stuck and help on how to hunt these creatures would be appreciated.

you could try wiki for big game hunter, it tells.you how too hunt and how to avoid detection.
the dinosaur has a visibility ring , if it spots you the ring changes colour and you need to get outside of the ring before it goes red. There are two safe spots of long grass, both near the active bone and active tree,off you stay in the long grass it doesn't see you.

If you catch the dinosaur or get spotted 5 times the dinosaur appears to hide and that's it for a given time which I think is an hour.

However the wiki explains this and There are some videos on line which also help. I know what I want to do, but can rarely achieve it
