They're called collectors.

Albeit, they only hold one of each artefact at a time per collection, and not the damaged ones. It's a mechanic that steers you towards completing collections, thus also reducing the number of artefacts in your bank. This should be enough IMO.

yeah i dont know why people hoard them either.

i just d/a them, apart from the ones that are used in collections that give tetras.
