So I know this is somewhat picky, and I appreciate it takes time and there are more pressing matters that require more dev time.
However, I wondered if we might be seeing the ability to override familiars with follower pets at all in the future?
It used to be the case that follower and legendary pets were unable to be overridden - that has since changed with allowing legendary pets to be included.
Just curious as there's so many nice follower pets, but for me at least, I rarely have a pet out that's not an overridden familiar.
if u mean like turn yak into a skilling pet like wallace u already can do that and can make legendary pets into a bob by using the pouch on them with the right ability added to legendary pet
cat as a pet is broken as its mechanics is old and outdated, just had mine ran away after gettin 94% & tried to feed thru menagerie & say that must gotten lonely.
fix cat pet before rolling other updates out. Cat & dog = 1 of the oldest pets & no updates.
I came to the forums specifically to post this. I cannot see why follower pets are denied the ability to override legendary pets or any other pet at all. Besides developer resources, there should be no reason why follower pets were limited from overriding any other pet.
Just got my Penny pet and I can't override my legendary.

It's because the Follower pets lack combat animations, which is necessary when overriding familiars. The way things are now, they'd only be able to stand there doing nothing while hitsplats are exchanged, which Jagex doesn't want.
I'd love for Jagex to make time and add these animation during a Ninja Strike, but they're sadly yet to do that.

Yeah! If only the same developers creating animations for "Academy of Heroes" were the same people retasked to create animations for Follower Pets... it's almost like priorities are placed on microtransactions...
