Got a question and suggestion about these.

Firstly, does anyone know if they work on gemstone dragons? Wiki doesn’t specify, probably because very few know as FoG is kinda dead.

Second, a suggestion. These were originally members only as dragons were members only, but now that most manner of dragon to include the KBD are free to play, and FoG is free to play, they should be another piece of content that become f2p.

Feel free to disagree, but someone kindly answer as to the first, as im trying to kill onyx dragons with level 62 necromancy and its going quite slowly. Looking for any boost I can get.

Gemstone dragons aren't special dragons like wyverns or boss dragons, so Dragon Slayer Gloves should work against them. However, I don't think they are very effective as they don't give Necromancy or Accuracy bonus like higher level regular non-degradable gloves like Barrows Gloves.

If you want to get Dragon Slayer Gloves, it is actually very easy and guaranteed if you buy with Thalers that can be guaranteed from playing any minigame on Spotlight. There is no winning requirements or even Activity check neither. You can just AFK any time any day on Minigame Spotlight for a few hours and get the Thalers for a pair of Dragon Slayer Gloves.

Patch 10 April 2017

Dragon slayer gloves now function correctly when killing gemstone dragons while on the relevant Slayer assignment.

They seem to work against gem dragons as they haven't been changed in any way since the patch 5 years ago.

Currently the requirement for dragon slayer gloves is slayer level 40. I think theses are possible reason for Jagex to consider with or against:
With:
1. if slayer skill gets a f2p cap increase to 20 in future and lower the slayer requirements for the gloves. which would make it the final slayer reward for f2p level 20.
2. members can better version or upgrade the dragon slayer gloves for greater effects.
Against:
1. Another reason possible Jagex could leave it alone on member due to higher slayer level.
