As I was walking around today on my beautiful farm, checking up on my animals, I noticed something quite interesting.
A strange old man was digging a hole and we struck up a conversation. He was interested in acquiring some farming supplies and we came to the following agreement:
I was to provide him with 6 spirit weed seeds, some yew roots and a Gloomshroom Zygomite with some desirable trait.
He in turn promised to reward me with:
A barrows item x1
This seemed like a solid deal in my book.
Little did I know, this strange old man (who refused to divulge his name) was about to
SCAM
me!
After returning with the requested farming supplies, acquired at great cost, he handed me 5 worthless Barrows totems instead of the promised Barrows item!
The old man refuses to elaborate on the matter, instead choosing to just
THanK Me foR My hELp
with a gleeful smirk on his face.
I hereby demand this man be brought to
JUSTICE
and my farming supplies returned to me forthwith.
Sadly, I am unable to return the Barrows totems as I dropped them on the floor in frustration.
There is totally grounds for winning your cases on the premise that, even though what he said wasn't technically a lie, it maliciously takes advantage of the fact that players commonly use "Barrows ______" to refer to the popular gear and NOT the low end rewards.
In all seriousness, though, Jagex kind of dropped the ball on that item description. They of all people should be aware of what the term "barrows item" implies to the majority of the player base. But even so, it's not exactly a high priority fix
