getting them before 99 is rare

its like rolling a dice, and to get pet you need roll a 6 4 times in a row.

some people will do it asap. some people will take 100+ rolls to get a 3 once....

then after 99 only 3 times in a row

120 2 times in a row

200m once a 3

not the best analogy but it kind of works

the way i see it is this - whether time-based or exp-based , skilling or combat pets drop , if I have reached the 200m exp cap in a skill (before the update) and i still don't have the pet as a drop automatically , it means the system has
failed
. below is one classic example:

, in all fairness, to give those players , who reached the 200m exp before the update an automatic pet drop on their first attempt (after the update) to train / utilise in the maxed exp skill.

i disagree (being a person that was 200m all combats when combat pets came out) (and also 200m in a fair few other skills when skill pets came out) i still need thiev dg and cook, which im 200m in and was 200m on release of pets. a few 200ms i have gotten pet. like invention.

i did these as 200m before the pets. just because i am now 200m doesnt mean i should get special treatment for that fact. what if i was 190m xp? i miss it by 10m xp even though 95% of the skill has been done with out the chance? where is the line to stop this special treatment?

same goes for boss titles.

to answer the question stated which ever is best for that skill whether it is xp or ticks go by that it doesnt change because you dont see the xp drop. you still roll the same dice.
