Just on my first impressions, after competing for the first time, not knowing what exactly to expect, I was 1st place and held it for a short while, then 2nd place, and then finally, 3rd place. The competition went great. It was competitive to hold 1st and 2nd and I thought 3rd was competitive until afterwards when I found out that there is no prize pool reward for 3rd. It boils down the competition to 1st place, and the rest is history. With a competition there are usually runner ups, and I thought it would be for a good reason as it makes it competitive to want to hold positions. Boiling down the competition to hold only one position, makes it non-competitive once you lose first place. The longer the duration is to hold positions (plural), knowing there is a prize pool for all top three positions, the more competitive it will be. So, my suggestion is very simple (yet probably more difficult than I know to accomplish), and that is to create runner-up prize pools for all 3 positions.
First place would have a deducted prize pool from how it is currently. Second place would share a portion with first place (but not equivalent of course) and third place would receive the least amount (even lower than the entry fee, if necessary, to fit in all three positions). The prize pools would scale accordingly.
I could see the game becoming livelier, quite a bit livelier, if this were to be implemented. At least for future reference, I think it's important to have more of a scale when it comes to competitions.
I won a competition for the skilling gem for agility, but I didn't get any prize? Are you supposed to win the pot? I clicked claim winnings but it said i had none =/
