basically a max account doesnt have any reason to do minigames or skilling
How about having fun, isn't that a reason? Why do you play RuneScape in the first place?
Heh yeah, when I maxed out I was planning to play minigames all the time but soon realized no one plays them so I quit the game
.
Adding more rewards can help but they just need to be updated badly, a lot of glitches and outdated stuff. Just look at castle wars for example, (character and game camera randomly jumps around when you walk on certain areas and you get k0ed too easily with BIS gear). If it was locked to f2p gear only it would make it easier and more fun, and stuff like double surge ruins it - everyone should have same powers in pvp related minigames.

My take on why minigames are dead is that there are simply too many of them.
Jagex seems to forget that every time they make some new content, people start playing that, which means that they stop playing whatever they were playing before. We are constantly presented with new things to do, so of course we don't do the old things anymore, and they becomes dead content.

No. Just make new Flash Events and D&D. They are the new minigsmes.
No, they are not minigames, they are events. Minigames are something you can play all the time, as much as you like, without any restrictions.
I hate the events and D&D in this game, because you have to wait for them, and because they interrupt you in whatever else you are doing when they suddenly pop up. You cannot just go and play them. I never do any of them because of that. Don't let them wipe out minigames, which we can play whenever we want.
Sinkholes are the same timed event garbage. I never play those either.
D&D events are minigames too. They are officially listed under the in game Minigames tab with its Minigames interface.
Your definition of minigames may not be the same as Jagex's. Different players may have their own definitions of minigames too.
For instance, Tears of Guthix is a minigame in OSRS, but in RS3 it is a D&D. The only way this is consistent is D&D are minigames.
We can't play Tears of Guthix all the time, so by your definition the OSRS team is wrong to call it a minigame?
D&D don't suddenly pop up and interrupt you. Most D&D don't pop up like random events and interrupt you. They show up in specific places and time. You don't have to wait for them and they won't interrupt your regular activities.
