Couple suggestions: 1) Make combat gear hybridable again 2) Allow for access to more than one combat set at a time with ability to switch between both sets instantly and without penalizing inventory space.
This will allow for a better combat experience overall. Without multiple trips to the bank, spending time switching gear at a bank, freeing up inventory space, and being able to better tailor attacks to NPCs, etc.
This should allow for the creation of enhanced combat tactics/rotations when fighting... but would also be handy in skilling situations also.
With #1, I specifically mean how in the past people mixed gear to reduce damage with one set and yet provide adequate attacks with a different set. In the old days, this might be someone wearing rune legs, a dhide top or ahrims, and attacking with melee. The melee armor would reduce damage, the ahrims would benefit spellcasting, the melee weapon provided one attack style which could be switched up to magic, all
without
wielding a magic staff/wand.
I'm not sure why Jagex changed this but I'm sure there was a good reason at the time, but it seems like more of hindrance for personalized gameplay than a benefit.
With #2, many games allow a character multiple gear sets available at once. One can switch from one set (on the front bar) to the other (on the back bar) while in combat (or for other activities as needed). This would be interesting in RS because of the variability this would add to PvM or even PvP.
