when I started playing runescape, most minigames were already dead
some players who had been playing runescape already more than 10 years ago told stories about how fun and interesting and alive some minigames once were
minigames which give dedicated skilling outfits as rewards (e.g. stealing creation, flash powder factory, fish flingers) are sometimes alive at least during spotlight and/or on their respective dedicated server, and the same holds true to a certain extent for minigames which are required for area task achievements (e.g. Castle Wars, Fishing Trawler)
Some minigames are only alive during spotlight and only when they actually allow players to just afk/stand around idly to earn Thaler at a rate of 1 per minute without actually playing the game (SoulWars, Castle Wars, Flash Powder Factory)
The minigames on Void Knight Island I have never had a chance to try out because they require more than one player and there doesn't seem to be a dedicated world or friendchat for them. The Burthorpe games room is empty at all times even though it could be a nice social activity.
So I fully support the idea of reviving the minigames by making them more attractive again, maybe by making (more of) their rewards accessible for iron accounts, adding some new rewards which would be useful for more recent game content, and reworking the actual gameplay.
