Spoilers, obviously
The plot of A Clockwork Syringe involves torturing a zombie head, and part of it is torturing said Zombie head with makeup, I think that plot element hasn't aged the most gracefully, the quest having come out before gay marriage even, but also before the age of men's makeup tutorials, but I also don't think that it has aged so ungracefully yet as to need a total rework like the Barbarian Village.
I liked how the new (at the time) Gunnarsgrunn quest addressed the problems with the Barbarian village line when that decision was made though, and so I have a suggestion for change. In the quest, we find out after torturing the Zombie that we could have just sailed randomly south and would have found it, and that the torturing was just a waste of time. My suggestion for a rework is kind of that, keep the entire actual quest and mechanics the same, but change the line of dialogue, so instead of caving and giving a location, the Zombie says something like "I went to Gielinor Pride, I'm not afraid of a little makeup" and then have you and Bill, having learned something about diversity, and have failed to torture the Zombie, needing to sail in a random direction to try and find it.
I also know that it may not have aged as much in the UK where the game is based than it has in North America, so you could have it be a quest-dependent line of dialogue. I.E. if you complete Tales of Pride before A Clockwork Syringe, then in A Clockwork Syringe, acceptance having spread through Gielinor based on the actions of the hero to collect the stories, the Zombie being no longer able to be tortured with makeup, and you and Bill needing to just hit the seas and try and find it.
