the platypus pet is being used as a safespot and players are doing this to trivialize their necro xp by having the pet block a side so the monsters can only reach the player one at a time instead of needing to deal with its mechanic. This has the side effect of crashing a specific drop these monsters drop, which means the task will be one I skip. Should it be nerfed at this specific location only to preserve the price of the rare drop, or stay this way so players can use their platypus for their own training? I would vote for nerf, this method only started to be a problem when necro came out before that I didn't really hear people use platypus for this monster. Look on wiki, it's one of the rare followers that can block npcs.

It is much more likely that, if this was to be changed, the ability of certain pets to block areas would be removed entirely, rather than just changed for a specific area. This could effect more than just PvMers. For example, it could have an impact on penguin hunting groups ability to trap penguins.

If I have a vote, I'd say please don't take that away!

Penguin hunting is my favorite group activity, and mad props to the groups that take the time and trouble to herd and trap, and run chats to keep others so-inclined up to date on the event as it is in progress.

No matter what is going on in my life (and this year has been a doozy) it is the one thing all week that I absolutely refuse to miss, simply because it is so enjoyable to me BECAUSE of everything those folks do for everyone.

I don't see a problem with that. Penguins is a distraction and diversion thing. Something you do when you stumble upon them randomly while playing the game. They are not supposed to be hunted down and trapped. It is a misunderstanding of what the whole distraction and diversion concept is all about.

In my opinion it's a bug that pets are able to block monsters, and it should fixed and removed everywhere.
