As it stands now Shooting Stars are dead content that could be removed from the game with little to no effect on the game. Their usefulness as afk mining exp has not be valid since the mining rework and the reward for time spent is well under just about any other mining in the game including iron. That said i think the overall concept is great and it is a very easy fix to make them a fun event if not a highly rewarding one.

My suggestions would be to:

1. Make it so mining shooting stars gives Ore and a chance of Gems Related to the size of the star with the size of the star scaling with the various tiers of ore. In the past this would be very problematic inventory wise but with the ore box its a none issue and i think just seeing your ore box fill with all the various ores over the course of the star would be rewarding in itself. (This could include a very rare chance at mining a Onyx at size 1 something that is missed while it being a Daily event ensures it does not tank the value of the gem)

2. Make mining shooting stars reward stone spirits while mining again scaling with the size of the star. Not only would this fit with the theme of the event Very well its would also provide a good method of supplying Stone Spirits to game perhaps allowing the commonality in drop tables from other content to be scaled back and providing the Dev team with a better means of controlling their value without watering down drop tables.

In regards to the final reward for freeing the Telletubbie inside my idea would be to have a choice of rewards such as.

1. A number of Metamorphic geodes, 1-3 perhaps. Taking this option would be the "gamblers" choice.

2. Mining enhancers (like those from the last wills event) either tradable or not this would be the skilling/exp focused reward

3. Large quantities of Stone Spirits this would be the safe value option and a awesome choice for Iron men.

4. A reward granting parts of the mining outfit or fragments to make it

As a bonus Idea Allowing the telletubie to convert Stone Spirits to higher or lower tiers at varying rates would be nice, and again be super great for iron men who cant simply sell them off and buy what they need. Also would make sense if the Stars themself rewards Spirits so you dont need to leave with a bunch of unwanted spirit types.


As with everything i suggested non of this would require new content simply reworking the drop tables which hopefully would not be to complicated. The overall goal being to simply make the content meaningful again without making it feel like you have to do it. The value per time spent should be roughly competive to mining but not greatly better. The exception to this being the very rare chance at a onyx and gambling on Metamorphics at the the end. (You should not be able to get metamorphics while mining the star)

Actually it's not right dead content as it's great for new ironman accounts for early lvls in mining if they don't have ore boxes or gote or any other good items to use but it definitely needs some love one thing I personally would love to see is that the star tubbies automatically even if not 100% completed can't complain enough of about that issue lol had so many stars despawn on me it ain't even funny that's the biggest issue with stars right now tbh

Shooting Stars are actually great content for new players, not just IM. Touching the stars first will give us lucrative xp, and especially great xp for new players. Most of the time when I found a Shooting Star, it was already mined by other player(s) first. This event is far, far from dead.

I see plenty of clans are still doing Shooting Stars, just that it is not designed for random walk-in players.
