Hey Jagex and Scapers,

We all love the grind of RS, unfortunately life gets busy and some grinds are near impossible. A prime example of this is the recent wilderness event added. Apparently, the chance to receive a dark onyx core is about 1/500. Assuming you get out of work at 5pm, you can do 2 of the special events per day. If you religiously completed these each day. It would take you over a year with average luck... My proposal is that we reduce the drop rate or allow players to receive multiple very wildy rewards sacks for the multiple parts of the special Wildy events.

I think the dark onyx core deserves a respectably rare drop rate. But it should not take over a year to get.

Thanks.

This is an mmorph they usually have very long grinds in them even if its just 1 singular item.

If everything thats rare was made less rare. Would just make the game be boring. Items like this help

Does that imply they have to be hero item rare?

Other than for that I can't explain why an item in theory everyone with a freshly created account can farm out is worth almost the gold cap almost a month after its release.

^^ well its not hero level rare. there are many in game already. the firs hsr to come into game took ages. first tonys mattock took 2 weeks.
the cores had many on first day,

freshly made account would be able to do evil tree thats it. star is cb they wouldnt hit 70k dmg, kbd they would die in 1 hit.

but same can be said for clues there are many dyes and it doesnt take long to be able to complete a hard clue be lucky for shadow dye. or be lucky on completing an elite and get blood dye.

its a good way to "share" wealth instead of top 1% having it all these are the ones buying these items off the lucky players.

obviously not all new players will get lucky. but there will be some sure. and yeah it is only a month still so is still fresh to the game
200m all RS3 on 7/3/19
1.2Billion overall Slayer xp / Ultimate slayer title

OSRS 2277/2277 Untrim slayer cape
Hail Satan, He loves for who you are.

Freshly created account probably was an understatement, but it's not like you need insane equipment to either survive the KBD, nor to deal enough damage against the firefiends - it just requires a group, that stalls damage in order to allow you to complete that thing - and most players aren't so egomaniac, they wouldn't help more novice ones for that matter - I've seen some dude with blue dragonleather and a magic shortbow doing either after all - that's really not much. You need much more than that to reliably get even the chance on actual hero items - take alone the requirements to access the ultra rare luck table in the first place, having t4 luck in the first place, to do master clues in a way you won't have to abandon them in 4 out of 5 steps.

While HSR and Tavia remain mysteries when it comes to their actual rarity, orlando and tony are known - orlando is a 1/104782, tony is a 1/10k drop - per reward slot, so the chance per clue or compass is better. Dyes are at least a bit more common than orlando, but 2nd age pieces can be even much rarer - there is a reason why nobody has a fully completed master log.

No matter how - if this thing actually was an 1/500 drop like OP states, the enchants would be much more affordable by now. Take a look at how the non major drops of any high levelled boss looks like after a month, if you actually want to call that "fresh", the major drops are in that dimension at that point and they'll remain there for much longer - give or take a couple of billions, but yeah - not 'basically' everybody is able to do those - so obviously the stuff has to be much rarer to compensate - and that's why I do not see 1/500 as remotely believable - and the sole reason why those things are cheaper than actual hero items is that fact 'basically' everybody is able to do them. Neither you, nor me have an actual number how many of those things are ingame so far.
