hmm 2 rings?...Hey i got a better idea!
Who says we can't wear more than 1 necklace? how about socks? maybe even double bracelets?! We have 2 hands remember?

It wouldn't be overpowered at all if it's done right. The fact that some geniuses were laughed at does not imply that all who are laughed at are geniuses. They laughed at Columbus, Fulton, and the Wright brothers. But they also laughed at Bozo the Clown.

I'd agree with two rings one on each hand but with certain limitations.
One hand - combat rings
This includes any ring that affects your stat bonuses, thus any imbued rings, explorer ring, fremmy rings etc. And even though it does not have actual stat effects, the ferocious ring.
Second hand - support rings
Ring of wealth, ring of life, recoil, duel etc.
