NURD.
A rope is placed over the top of a fence, the same amount of rope on either side of the fence. The rope weighs one-third pound per foot. On one end of the rope hangs Tyler holding a banana, and on the other end is a weight equal in weight to Tyler. The banana weighs two ounces per inch. The length of the rope (in feet) is equal to the age of Tyler (in years), and the weight of Tyler (in ounces) is as much as the age of Tyler's mom (in years). The combined ages of Tyler and his mother are thirty years. The weight of the banana plus half of the weight of Tyler is one-fourth as much as the sum of the weights of the weight and the rope, where all weights are in the same units. Tyler's mother is half as old as Tyler will be when he is three times as old as his mother when she was half as old as Tyler will be in when he is twice as old as he is now. How long is the banana?
Hint: the answer is not an integer.
For those who didn't read, the question is, How long is the banana?
