Art Competition #8: Star Wars!

Hey everyone,

Important: Do not copy any artwork on this thread without the permission of the artists first.

I'd like to announce and get an artwork competition going. For this one, I would like to see any and all drawings related to Star Wars. You may draw something from any of the episodes or from elsewhere in the Star Wars universe; however,
PLEASE DO NOT SPOIL THE NEW MOVIE!!!

The competition begins today, December 24th at the time of this post. It will close on Sunday, January 17th at 11:59 PM. If you plan on drawing something later please let me know by posting on this thread.

Important Note: By posting a drawing on this thread, you are giving permission to me and future owners to display your drawing in the winner's gallery on this thread and future editions of this thread as well.

1) Please try to rate others artwork at the conclusion of this competition. The artwork will be ranked on an average of the ratings, so the more people who rate - the better!

2) You may enter as many drawings as you want, but only your best artwork will be ranked at the conclusion of this contest.

3) It is asked that you post the browser you are using and your zoom %.

4) By posting your drawing on this thread, you are giving permission to the thread owner/future thread owners to repost your drawings for use in the winners gallery.

5) Colouring is optional and will not be judged. The reason I have this rule is because I do not want to discourage others from drawing really intricate/large artwork. Color codes just take up too much space at the moment.

6) The top 3 drawings will be ranked and placed in the gallery for this thread.

7) If there is not enough competition for ranking to be fair, then all participants will be awarded

2 points

on the high scores and ranking will not take place.

·¸·`·¸ Judging Rules ¸·´·¸·

1) Judging will take place immediately following the end of the competition. The judging period will end when an adequate number of people have rated others drawings.

2) Everyone who has participated in the art competition are encouraged to participate in the judging.

3) The host of the thread must NOT participate in the judging portion of the contest. The host will instead only post to break any ties that might occur during the judging portion.

4) When judging, you should rate based on the rating guide that follows

Rating guide:

Note: In your rating, do NOT rate based on colours

1: I have no clue what that is supposed to be
2: I think I can make something out
3: I don't hate it.
4: Not bad, could use some work.
5: It's alright
6: It's good.
7: This is really good.
8: I like it!
9: I love it!
10: I'm impressed, this is awesome.

6) Similarly, when rating give thought to the following criteria (courtesy of Nop Patar)

Things to think about when rating

• Detail
• Proportion
• Variety of Character Usage
• Resemblance of Intended Image
• Overall Flow and Transitions

5) Do not give pity votes! A pity vote is one that rates something higher than what it really should be just because someone feels sorry that they are getting consistently low scores. When you are judging it is important that you are fair.

7) Be conservative with your '10's. You should not be giving out 3 '10's in your rating. Use the rating guide to help with your decision if you are stuck.

8) Do NOT rate based on colours.

9) I reserve the right to omit your ratings if I feel that you have given unfair ratings for other peoples artwork. Note: I will only do this in extreme cases where it is flat out obvious, so do not worry if you are rating fairly.

Terms and Conditions for remaking thread

Any previous host for the Art Competition may give permission to others to remake this thread. Upon recreation, you MUST keep the overall framework of the thread. It is okay to change certain parts of this thread to better suit the competition topic that you choose (ie, the introduction, rating guide, etc.) I, Cyanid, reserve the full rights of this thread. If any part of the framework is vandalized or removed I reserve the right to request a lock on the competition.

•
First Place Winner
will be awarded with 10 points.
• Second Place Winner will be awarded with 7 points
•
Third Place Winner
will be awarded with 5 points.
•Players that participated and earned an average rating of 5 or higher will earn 2 points.
•Players that participated but did not earn an average rating of 5 or higher will earn 1 point.
•A symbol of '•' shows any 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place winners (gold meaning 1st, silver meaning 2nd, and bronze meaning 3rd)
•Players participating in unrated competitions will earn

2 points.

•If two people share a score, then the person with most highest medals should be listed. (ie: Player1 with 1 gold medal should be ranked above player2 with a silver medal)
