Yeah I remember DFS coming about around the time that I quit.
As for history.. Well, I remember quite a bit because I always asked Jedi about it, but a lot of the names of artists tend to escape me. I remember a few distinct periods, however.
2007 - When I started making signatures. Before this, the only history I know of is that signatures used to primarily be one liners with various symbols in them, and wavy signatures had just started coming about.
Most signatures were simple waves that were 2 lines, but 4 liners had just started to become more popular.
2009 - New age signatures. A lot more artists started to come in and come up with their own designs. Competitions for the 'best' signatures came about, with people arguing who had the better styles. There was a slight divide between older artists, who preferred bigger, wavier signatures, and newer artists, which used designs that incorporated a lot more waves, bubbles, crossthroughs, etc.
2010 - Everything had settled out, and things started to die down. Most of the older artists that found most of the beginning styles had left by now.
