When I clicked ''quote'' on your post, I noticed there is a lot of colour tags; your signature takes up almost 1,000 characters. After I made a few coloured signatures in my gallery, I discovered a technique you can use to cut down on tags but the signature will look exactly the same. Delete ALL of the [lightslategray] colour tags in your signature; put [noparse][lightslategray] at the very beginning of your signature, then put [/lightslategray][/noparse] at the very end. I'll show you an example of why this makes any difference; see this text below? [lightslategray]This is blue text, [springgreen] and this is green text[/springgreen][/lightslategray] Here are the tags I used: [noparse][lightslategray]This is blue text, [springgreen] and this is green text[/springgreen][/lightslategray][/noparse] Notice how I only used one [noparse][lightslategray] tag at the beginning, and one [/lightslategray][/noparse] tag at the end? If you put, for example, a [yellow] tag at the beginning and end of something, any colour tags between the two tags will work as normal. Any other text between the [yellow] tags would be coloured yellow. Do you see what I mean? Almost 1,000 character spaces is an awful lot for a signature. [lightgreen],•*'ˆ¯ˆ'*•,„•*'ˆ¯ˆ'*•, '„[greenyellow]Fõllõw yõur dreãms[/greenyellow]„' [dimgrey];[/dimgrey]`„[greenyellow]..Stãy strõñg...[/greenyellow]„´ [dimgrey];;::[/dimgrey] `*·•.,„,.•·*´[/lightgreen][/quote] Ah i see thanks for the advice, I will have to do some editing on it when i get home :)

I've been asked if I'd add a little regarding the size of signatures and the Forum rules.

The rule as it has been for a long time is as found in the runescape wiki:
Home // RuneScape Wikia // Forum FAQ

'Post signatures are not to have more than four lines of text. If a forum moderator deems that your signature could be classed as spam, they are allowed to ask users to remove the signature from further posts.'

However it was noted with the change in forum tools etc. in particular with the use of underlines, signatures were sometimes 5 lines or even 6 lines and these were not being moderated.

So, if you keep your signature to 4 lines of text, as long as the content is appropriate, you know you are within the rules.

However, the issue is really more to do with the size of signature rather than the number of lines per se. The issue is that a forum signature must not appear unreasonably large.

So as a rough guide, if the size of a signature is beginning to reach something like 1 inch/2.5cm in height, you will be approaching a size where a moderator may well ask you to change it as it will be deemed as too large, and not appropriate.

Thank you for the information, Jyggy, I've been wondering about this for a while. :)
I've just gotten a ruler out and measured that an inch is around 5-6 lines, depending on which characters are used.

@Jyggy: Thank you for the information; underlining does make signatures seem unreasonably large. I don't really see the point of using underlining in signatures anyway.

What about for a signature like this, Ruby?

I sometimes like to use lines to help to show where the signature starts and end. :)
Of course, it's only simple, but I see what you mean with a signature such as your own. :)

@IceyNut: Ohhh, right, I thought Jyggy actually meant underline , not the symbols that look like underlines. Yes, I have been wondering if underlined signatures like that will ever get moderated.

I have an idea: What about using a few different symbols for the waves? It might look better in black that way.
