A masterpiece 9/10.
Vibrant casting with really no bad characters which makes room for a lot of amusing and even sometimes serious scenarios. A world setting the historical background of which is so bizarre and see-for-yourself that spoiling it would be a sin.
Random episode plots, awkward interactions between (candy)people, at times so intentionally bland that it just increases the awesome and awkward levels.
Makes use of some issues like parents and kids growing apart without actually trying to make it a lecture.
Etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc
All in all it just knows what it is and is great at it.

Never seen, but to break this pattern, I'm going to try anyways from what I know. I think it's very admirable that people are still working on things like Sherlock Holmes, keeping them relevant. I understand it's got a lot of elements from the books, and between it, those movies, and Elementary, it's clear that this book series will never be forgotten. The characters must be good--because they were in the books--and I can only assume the writing is good. I give it ?/10, since I still ain't seen it, but it sounds like a great show.

Gravity Falls. If you haven't heard of that, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. If not that, Star Trek: The Next Generation. If not that, Scooby Doo.
