@Samsaurus99: Well, for a starter, I've always liked to try to be self sufficient. When I first joined the forums, I saw the old signature making guide, and thought it looked fun. It said I could use some of the borders provided, but naturally I did not use the guide's borders for my whole signature. I used it for some, but also added my own personal touch.

Anyway, I discovered DFS. I began to visit that thread a lot, I was fascinated by all the wonderful art the artists there made, especially TheUnending. I never actually posted there until a while later, all I did was get inspiration from the art; never actually posting an application for a signature because I liked to make my own.

The only thing I have EVER copied was from the previous signature making guide (a long while ago), in the post that teaches you how to use basic waves. I used the wave it teaches you how to make in my second signature (not my first). I tried to make my own wave but wasn't any good at it, so I looked at the one it had used as an example and used those symbols. I hadn't realised at the time that was actually copying; I was new to the forums, and even though I knew not to steal, the guide never said anywhere to not copy the guide's examples. It just said not to copy other people's art. I was the only one noticed, and felt a bit ashamed.

Thanks! My first signature is in this thread (the old signature making guide) on page 426. When I started making signatures, I didn't really make them for other people. I mostly just doodled in notepad; I didn't put all of it here in my gallery, just my better ones. A lot of them were pretty rubbish, I experimented a lot.

One of the reasons why I didn't join a signature company till later on was because I wasn't good enough. People applying for signatures at a company would probably expect a more or less professional-looking signature.
