Thanks. Having a lot of trouble with the blooms though, I don't know if I've gotten rusty or if it's just a hard subject. I've been trying not to make my drawings so symmetrical/precise because that takes the life out of the drawing, but sometimes it becomes sloppy, which is all I've gotten with the flowers. Pretty much all I've accomplished so far is to remove the bottom half of the flowers and given the top half a better shape. Think I'll save drawing the rest of the flowers for later.

On the subject on irregularity, how about drawing the buds in different stages/sizes? Have one be small and not all that close to blooming, and have another fully grown and blooming?
I've had the same issue with being rusty, although I think for me I've always struggled more with the design aspect of ASCII rather than the technical aspect. So in a sense, creativity/design is a skill that needs to be practiced as well, I think. So when I'm drawing something for the first time in a while, I tend to struggle coming up with unique designs and sorta end up resigning to what's easiest/simplest.
Idk if that made any sense or was even helpful; some food for thought maybe…

Oh good idea. I want to finish this drawing as is, but I'll do a second (by editing the first) to draw the buds in different stages.
I know what you mean. I'm not really that creative, I just get some reference images and shapes and use those for drawing. So my drawings usually look like the kind of technical photos you'd find in a text book, lol.
