The book is just as brilliant, if not better. Johnny Depp portrayed Raoul Duke far superior to Bill Murray in Where The Buffalo Roam, tho both of them grew to be good chums with Hunter. Del Toro smashed Gonzo, but so many people seemed to judge him for his method acting (gaining weight and changing his habbits for the role) as if he were crazy/ losing the plot
