Neat. Kinda makes me want to pick up playing chess again. Wonder if there's boards with floating, magnetic pieces. Cause that would be BA if combined with a space themed one.
On a side note, my nerd side came out during a lab. Had to build and program a buzzer, and might have programmed it to play Mario, tetris, and pokemon themes. Sadly it wasn't good enough to get me out of the final in a few days

As far as I know, there isn't that form of chess, but I have heard of a type of chess game where there are 3 boards stacked on top of each other. There are many other forms of chess, such as atomic chess, in which every piece carries a bomb, so when a piece takes another, that piece and every piece within one square except pawns are also destroyed, and progressive chess, where player A makes N moves and the other player makes N + 1 moves (player A move makes 1, B makes 2, A makes 3, etc.) and games where you only use the King's half of the board (including only the squares from the E file to the H file).
