I hate that they brought out the combat side of it before skilling side.
I don't fancy spending hours levelling up in combat when I am not a combatant fan to begin with.
I am entrigued as to how this will balance the PVM/Skilling scale out since as it is the current updates are very heavily combat based. I personally would like to see a more even spread on the Skilling vs PVM update releases.
Although I'm more of a combat-oriented enthusiast than a skilling-oriented enthusiast, I'd have to agree Katy. There just to be mainly (group) combat-related updates and very little skilling updates. What I believe would make the game less biased towards major group combat updates would be to incorporate more skilling and single-combat updates.
Also, Twillow and Katy, perhaps the both of you could set your eyes on specific boss drops- perhaps titles, such as I went for, or perhaps boss pets. When you set your hopes on a certain goal, it seems to happen as you put your mind to it!

I currently just am not keen on invention and it's leveling techniques or exp spread.
I'm hoping invention batch 2 will have something a bit more motivating, since I'm not a combat-oriented person.
Dismantle your way to 99?
Get your hands on about 10m seeds for wishing well, venus fly, sunchoke, etc .... and just dismantle.
1 gp ea, probably the cheapest way to go
or pickpocket elves and just dismantle anything that the game lets you
Here's the problem with that, though:
1) All of these seeds only have a buy limit of 100/4h.
2) You do not get that much xp by dismantling them.
3) You train much faster and don't spend as much if you choose to do combat.
As you can see, trying to gain 36M xp in Invention as a skiller would be virtually impossible, unless you overpaid to buy someone's collections of seeds, but even if you managed to do that, dismantling them would take far too long and cost more money than training to 99 invention the normal way would.
