^Haven't seen you in ages, how are you Aorox?
Been alright. Slightly busy irl sorting out things for uni, but apart from that, not too much has been happening. I'd say the other things, but it would most likely result in a hidden post lol.

How about you, how have you been? :)

Success is not final, failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts.

@Doofmiester, I might do that but finding one may or may not be difficult, this laptop is nearing its 7th year, so it's bound to go sooner or later.

@Pippy, I'm finding it amusing too (and loud).
I bought a used laptop in 2003 and it still works just fine, had to replace the keyboard once cuz my dog tried to get on line and scratched all the keys off.. but that only cost me 10 bucks and 10min to swap them out. it can be slow loading, and a bit heavy...but it still does its job, best 200 bucks I ever spent.

The repair costs I've spent on this laptop probably equal the original $450 purchase price, if it's not one problem then it's another. I used to travel with it a lot so quite a few things got broken. I figure when I have time and money, I'll end up replacing it with a home-made desktop rig.

Well, my laptop is about 6 and a half years old. When I am playing a game, or something else equally taxing, its fan's sound resembles that of a lawnmower, as it is spinning faster.

Crashes multiple times a day, needs like 10-15 minutes after booting up in order to be able to do anything, including opening my browser.

Oh and the battery's completely dead, so if it's not plugged in (and the adapter stops working if I move it around very much at all) my laptop cannot turn on. Once I had a power cut and it powered off immediately, very annoying.

I find the main cause of the crashes tend to be when I am looking through social media, generally whilst I am moving the mouse. Or a lot of switching between windows. Scrolling slowly often helps, as well as not moving the mouse much (and if you do, take regular short "breaks" where the mouse is completely still).

Edit: Oh, and its network card tends to be a bit on the iffy side, and does not work as well as it should due to age.
