So today I tried doing vampire slayer on OSRS with my noob/first account, who was 34 attack, 30 hp, 34 defence, 1 strength, 1 magic, 1 range, and 1 prayer...
Attempt #1- melee, no strength potions- teleported away from me?
Attempt #2- melee, strength potions- maxed 2, teleported away from me again ?
Attempt #3- air strike, 1 magic- teleported away again !
Attempt #4- fire strike, 13 magic- SUCCESS !
Only took an hour or so...
After the quest- 31 hp, 36 attack, 13 magic (rest unchanged).

Oh, it was quite a journey!
I thought that I would have needed more food than just my inventory, but it came down to the fact that I couldn't do enough damage, which is strange for me because I don't recall quest bosses teleporting away after a certain period of time!
