Actually, the situation was that there were about six quite inactive joke threads with inactive authors. They were being sporadically bumped with bump and/or some inappropriate, offensive jokes.

It seemed a win-win to have a new sticky joke thread such as we have now: active author, an opportunity for gold engagement, and easier to find so that jokes and humor can be posted. Time will tell.

Stickies across all the forums are periodically refreshed. The count to 50 b4 a mod was at 74k+ posts and no guinness book of records in sight so some spring cleaning occurred in
autumn
