Pyro sees a dart of something aimed straight at his neck. With no time to dodge, he grabs hold of his skull and detaches it from his spinal cord. The incoming object just misses his jaw, zips behind him and hits one of the lava titans in the stomach with a THUD. The titan flinches and looks down in confusion to see a medium sized hole. Pyro's detached head turns to see the hole and laughs in amusement. The titan rumbles in irritation and attempts to fix the hole.

Pyro reattaches his skull, makes an unnerving neck cracking sound, and gives a deathly glare at the attacker.

He he he... I'm gonna have fun with you...


Pyro raises his scythe and slashes at the air a few times. Slashes of solidified fire zooms towards the enemy. One makes a direct hit at the knee while the others are still incoming.

*despite the searing wound on my knee, i manage to gracefully dodge the rest of the fire. i then climb on one of the titans and stab a wall with my sword, intending to cause a cave in over pyro*

If you're referring to Natasha Exalting briefly, that was for an entirely different reason. Remember when I informed Ash*in that there was no way he would have been able to sense Natasha from a distance, even if her power hadn't been sealed?

The only time it is possible to detect Natasha when you're not in her immediate presence or observing her affect on reality is when she's channelling the Unconquered Sun - there's just so much power that her saa can't contain it, so they don't even bother to try.

Natasha wants Aylss to know she's escaped, and to know where she is - hence efectively lighting herself up as a beacon.

That's the only thing she did while Exalting; if she'd done anything actually aimed at you guys, I would have mentioned it.

I'm not quite sure how to break this to you, but... there was slightly more than just one shadow-needle. And by slightly more, I mean thousands.

I kind of called it a hail for a reason =P

Plus there's the shadowforged too.

It all happened too fast. As if the dimension felt it were being tilted and reversed, something seemed really off. Before anyone could make any sense of it, Pyro realizes time itself has reversed. As if it hasn't happened yet, he tries to dodge the attack again, but instead of one, it's a (uh)

weapons aimed straight for pyro.

He does his best to dodge them but every so often an object cuts through Pyro's armor. Continuous THUD sounds are heard in the background. One specific, last incoming object heads straight to his head. Without a moment to loose, he detaches his skull from his spinal cord. Along with the rest, it zips by him and Pyro notices one of his titans in bad shape. The other titan attempts to heal the holes within his partner.

Enraged from the attack and his titan almost cut down, Pyro reattaches his skull, makes an unnerving neck cracking sound, and gives a deathly glare at the attacker.

I haven't had this kind of experience in 200 years. I'm gonna have fun with you...

One makes a direct hit at the knee (to the correct enemy this time) while the others are still incoming. With the end of his scythe, he stabs the ground and sends a crevice cracking through the ground and towards his enemy.

(Hopefully that's a little better. Your word structure way fairly confusing in your long post so it was difficult to analyze what was going on.)

The same techniques I saw the Shadow-forger using last encounter, she uses again. Fortunately, I've already managed to sort it out before and this time is no different.

As if on cue, thousands of flame portals open around me, Mad Guy, Pyro, Ash*in and the recently escaped prisoner. The needles fly straight into the portals, and more portals open up, redirecting any needles which don't get swallowed up by the immense positive energy in the Phoenix plane will just hit the floor. None of them emerge.

Next, I face my new shadow-forged opponent. With only a moment's hesitation I allow it to begins its assault. however, before it even so much as scratches me, I swing one of the swords around and stab, plunging it into the creature's chest. It clutches in vain at the blade, the light from which slowly destroys it from the inside.

Next, I turn to the shadow-forged attacking Pyro, which has gone unnoticed. I throw both swords, which seem to be projected with almost unnatural accuracy at the dark construction, which dies in the same fashion. The swords fly through the air and I clasp them in my hands again.

I then fashion the two swords into a solid fire shield and follow up Pyro's attack, using it as a cover while I use an explosion to launch myself across the crevice. After the flurry of projectiles from Pyro, as well as the crevice, the Shadow-forger will have to deal with a sudden head-on collision from a shield bash.

EDIT- changes music to The Nightbringer by Peter Crowl*y. Just think the name fits the enemy we're fighting right now pretty well.

Walking amongst the shards of memory strew throughout the UnderRealm, you kick a few joyous remembrances aside, scrutinizing the agony beneath that had caught your eye.

“Another deathshard, and still nobody around worth bothering myself with.” You muse, running a fingertip over the smooth surface of the crystalline representation of some poor soul’s past.

You toss the fragment aside, taking a few more lazy steps toward the elevator that would carry you out of this God-forbidden place. (Not that you couldn’t just fold space-time and arrive outside, but you had found that walks helped keep it in check after an episode.)

A slight tingle pulses from your soles to the tips of your ears before being picked up by the sensitive instruments housed in the metallic plates that embrace the tips of your ears. A nanosecond’s comparison confirms your suspicion- the distinctive energy pattern of an Exaltation’* activation.

And last you had checked, there was only one Exalted in the immediate vicinity that would have reason to light a massive beacon like that.

You emerge from the solid hellstone in Natasha’s former cell- from the wall opposite the door, in fact.

The place was a mess. Chains melted to a stony waste matter separated from metals during the smelting or refining of ore. , a bowl-like depression incised in the floor, and an entryway acting as a portal to a hallway even more defaced than this prison cell.

You wonder at the still-warm distorted metal that once made up Natasha’s chains, but then you remember her fury at whoever had locked her here- destroying the chains would have been the first of the ways Nat would vent, and it would be far from the last.

But at least this way Sovereign will have no evidence of what you did, so there’s that.

You could, of course, meet Natasha down here. Conversation would be a bit sporadic between the gunfire and melee, but it would be manageable.

Admittedly though, the two of you aren’t particularly good at conversation.

That, and you have spent enough time in confined places far from the comforting quiet of space. If at all possible, you are going to avoid spending more time in this vapid room and dull hallway than absolutely necessary. It only takes a moment to open an unshielded wormhole in the space left vacant by the door of the cell.

Which, of course, you promptly step through- though not before contributing to the fight with an incendiary grenade or two of your own of course. (You can** let everyone else have all the fun after all!).

Such a portal should easily catch Natasha’s attention and make the point clear- that this elf was not going to tolerate any more time cut off from the light of the stars.
You emerge in the moonlit top balcony of The Tower.

“Eergos, but I really have been away from the stars too long.” you breathe, comforted by the blanket of blackness overhead, and the pinpricks of light it ensconces.

Of course, the real eyecatcher of the local sky is the huge whitish-grey orb hovering a few thousand feet above you, dwarfing even the nearby mountains to your eyes.
