I'll probably start planning the details and later create one as a trial run, see how it goes. The main problem is that adding colors to drawings might be too time consuming for most people, since color codes distort the drawing and it's easy to lose track of the line you want to edit. But if the drawings are simple, it should be fine.

I was thinking of having two versions of more complex base drawings, one being the original and the other having predesignated places for colors, like putting [@] [/@] and [#] [/#], then leaving instructions to use "Find and Replace" in Word to change those to any color. Or I might just do it on request, idk. Choosing that one would limit creativity but would make it a lot easier to color.

I like the idea of having the original and then after that the colouring version.

An idea I'd like to suggest is that in the second version to be used for colouring, you could also put an extra line between each line of the picture, so it's easier to see where you might want to put colours. Although an even better idea might be to put in some brackets; [colour#1] [/colour#1] etc. or name each part of the picture.

for example, if it were a bird, [beak] [/beak], [wings&back] [/wings&back], [underbelly] [/underbelly] etc.

that way they know exactly where to put each colour.

EDIT - I just realized that's what you were suggesting in your post. i think.

I didn't think of either of those ideas, they would definitely make it easier. Color codes making one line into two is part of what makes adding colors annoying, so it would really help to separate the lines more clearly. My idea was just to have [@] [/@], and at the beginning of the post, put @ = color 1, # = color 2. If I have enough characters, it would be good to name the parts that are being colored. Or you know what might work, is to use [@] [/@] and say @ = beak.
