maaaan, i was lookin through my emails, and i found the emails i saved with my old ascii in it, i cant save any of it, its either to wide, to many chars or to messed up Dx


literally about 200 logos gone o.o

i put a thread on Old School General and a post on "Have your say" thread asking them to reconsider the font, or at least have an option to change between Ariel and Verdana,

they probably wont even look at it, or care if they do, but it cant hurt to ask

I think reverting or further altering the forum font would just hurt the current artists, which is not something that we need.

if they could make it so we choose the font, then current artists wouldnt be effected, the older artists like us could still use ariel and have our art, and the newer artists could stick with verdana.

That's another solution. I don't think they should just outright change this font though.

i remember now why i hate people -.- iv had to explain to several different people a million times that ascii doesnt breed spammers

everyone seems to think all artists do is make logos then spam them on every thread on the forums o.O

seriously what has happened here =\ people use to love art, now everyone thinks the artist community is a band of spam trolls


there has to be some way to get the ascii community back =\

I believe I posted a few times 2 years ago when this changed on threads with similar comments.

Unfortunately it's not possible for us to cater specifically towards ASCII artists. I believe at the time a suggestion of having 'ASCII tags' allowing you to put [ascii][/ascii* tags around some text, which would then display in arial font, was the best compromise we could come to.

So I think the answer is this: Currently there are no plans to renew ASCII support, however there are always future possibilities when we finally get an updated forum. It's not one of the features which would be at the top of our priorities though, being honest.

considering making a logo school some time in the near future, if we can at least get a couple more artists into it then it might not be so dead around here.

before i do though i need to work on my basic shapes xD im starting to make better logos but if i cant draw a perfect circle then i wont try to teach :3
