Positions Onboard
Captain : The captain is responsible for overall management of the ship and crew. Whilst the captain may delegate many tasks, they take direct responsibility over combat and their orders are law. UNAVAILABLE.
Quartermaster : The link between the captain and the crew, the Quartermaster ensures morale is up, that loot is shared fairly, that disputes are resolved amicably and is generally the superior crew members look to when problems arise. AVAILABLE.
Bosun : Responsible for the upkeep of the ship, the Bosun inspects the rigging, boards, sails, and all else needed to keep the ship running. AVAILABLE.
First Mate : The captain's apprentice, the First Mate observes the quartermaster, bosun, master gunner, master carpenter and other senior officers and learns their trade, and reports back directly to the captain. If a second vessel is taken, the first mate will be expected to captain it. AVAILABLE.
Second Mate : The shadow of the first mate, the Second Mate joins the first mate in shadowing senior officers, but does not have contact with the captain. Will become the captain's first mate should the original be undisposed. AVAILABLE.
Third Mate : An acolyte, the third mate shadows the regular rank and file gunners, riggers, carpenters, etc. and learns from all. The third mate is not a senior officer and does not report to the second mate, but is instead given tasks by whichever senior officer they are serving under that day. AVAILABLE.
Master Gunner : In charge of the gun decks, the artillery of the ship and the strategy when going into naval combat, the Master Gunner takes responsibility for sea-based warfare on the ship. AVAILABLE.
