Timmins stood in White City Park, trying to find in himself which way he wanted to go. He could either stay on John's side- Virtue Co.'s side. Or, he could be loyal to his friend- Jay. Jay had trusted Matt enough to give him the pass word. Would Timmins betray this trust and give it over to John? Neither choice seemed right. Both seemed to have their own major flaws.
Jay's side was that of the outlaws. Jay was associating himself with hackers and rebels. If he did help Jay, he would be placing himself in the same boat, and risk losing the position he had worked for for close to six years.
John's side was fully with the law. They were intent on keeping the game intact, and punishing rule breakers. Unfortunately for Timmins, one of these rule breakers was his best friend- Jay.
Timmins sighed. The only thing he was sure about, was that the proram and pass word needed to be separated. As, in the past, when the program had been launched, there were real casualties, and very real problems. Everyone had read the stories, and desperate pleas for Runescape to be shut down after the incident involving a player named Zert.
The story told of a living embodiment of the program, Codenamed X, which destroyed and killed as he pleased.
From what Timmins had studied, Zert had met the program in combat, in the company of several of his friends. In the end, the program was thought to be destroyed. Two years after that, everything had turned back to this destructive state. The program had survived, as an outside source had made a copy of it, and sold it. At the final climax of these great battles, the program encrypted itself into a highly lethal file, and prepared to send itself all across the world. Zert and his friends were rumored to have intercepted the file, broken the encryption, then re-encrypt it with a much more powerful pass word.
