Scyne raised one hand, his palm facing Timmins. "Stop now, and give me the scroll."
Timmins turned, tucked the scroll into his pouch, and raised his great axe. "Over my dead..." He was never able to finish his sentence. Scyne's hand seemed to be drawing in energy from the area around it, and it released it in a sudden beam of light aimed at Timmins.
Jay shaded his eyes momentarily from the light. When he opened them, nothing remained of Timmins save for the scroll and a rather nice pile of items that made up his corpse.
Scyne bent down and picked up the scroll. He then turned and picked up his own halberd. Jay staggered to his feet, and picked up his right hand's dragon longsword. "Scyne, give me the scroll." He knew it was probably futile.
Scyne turned, and thrust the halberd toward Jay was unbelievable speed. Jay's instincts took over, and he swung down to deflect the blow. Yet, in less than a quarter of a second, Jay found himself pinned to the wall, with a halberd sticking into his chest. He groaned in agony. The last thing he saw before he blanked out, was Scyne grinning, and leaving the room, scroll in hand.
Jay wasn't sure how long it was before he woke up. He found himself still stuck to the wall via the halberd. First, he pulled the halberd out of his chest, and allowed himself to fall to the floor. He moaned again, feeling the excruciating pain in his subconscious mind, translating to a pain in the real world.
Next, he checked his inventory, fearing the program would be stolen. Surprisingly, Scyne had left Jay, and his inventory untouched.

Scyne sighed. It was time to learn the word that had eluded him for so long. He began to unravel the scroll...
