"What was that just now?" The stone mage slowly turned back to his tiny friend. "Did you just try and hit me with magic? It felt like something brushed against me. Heh, I presume I'd be in a much worse condition if I had taken that hit in my previous body, but it looks like you may have to try harder this time around." The ground quaked as the monstrosity of rock and magic giggled while he bent down to try and dig through the rocks.
Tash noticed an exposed ledge on the nearby leg of his stone foe and took a running leap towards it. His fingers dug deep into the rocky outcrop as he pulled himself up and onto the platform. Just above his head was a break in the joints being held together by what looked like green flames. If it were any other time than now, Tash would be in awe of the magical sight of pure earth essence holding together a mobile mountain, but for now he was concentrating on bringing it down. He leapt up to the joint and heaved his body over. Luckily for him, the semi transparent flame of power was not an actual flame as he brushed past it to ascend higher on the frame, but his actions did not go unnoticed.
"Pardon me," spoke the stone mage, "but are you trying to scale me like some sort of cliff?" He stood back up and nearly threw Tash from his side back down to the ground. "Would you please mind waiting on the ground rather than on top of me?"
"I just wanted to see what the view was like up there!" shouted Tash as he struck a handhold into the side of his foe's thigh with a small blast of earth magic. He repeated the action enough to reach another break at the waist.

"Y'know, I always hated it when little insects would clutter around me, and I'd have to shoe them away with a nice swat." The massive stone arm rose up and then came crashing down with a devastating force against his side. Tash nimbly rolled inside the joint below his enemy's abdomen and above his leg. "So now you're going to hide inside of me, eh?" The rocky floor Tash was laying on began to shift as stalagmites and stalactites sprung from the floor and ceiling narrowly missing Tash's body.
The small cave proved to be a much more dangerous location than first expected, so Tash quickly rolled out and took hold of a ledge on the back of his opponent. Once again the rocks began to shake as a spike sprung forth from nowhere to the miniscule warrior's side. He clambered onto the ledge only to have to jump up to another as a second spike almost skewered up where he stood. Every step turned into life or death as he progressed up the back of his mountainous enemy. As soon as he would take a step from one ledge, a spike would emerge where he was. Tash felt confident as he progressed at a speedy pace until the mage began to chuckle. His concentration was broken, and as he went to jump to the next ledge, a spike formed in his path. His gut made contact with the protrusion which managed to knock the wind out of him.
"Poor little boy," the mage was still laughing as he spoke, "I have complete control over this physique, did you think I would be able to fall behind on producing spikes?"
Tash wheezed as he reached into his rune satchel and pulled out a couple air and blood runes. Before his opponent had the time to project another spike into him, he launched a wave of air on the newly formed ledge to propel his body high into the sky up near his enemy's head. He landed with a thud directly on top of the stone mage's skull.

"What's this? How did you manage to get up here?" questioned the mage. "No matter, I'll just kill you right there."
As the mage was still speaking, Tash withdrew the same runes as well as a few earth ones. In one swift action, he smacked his hand down upon the rocky surface to release a wave of force into the rock skull below him. The recoil of the close range casting sent him flying into the air. As he began to plummet back down to the ground, he landed abruptly on the palm of his seemingly undamaged foe.
"That was rather rude of you." The mage brought Tash down towards his face, or rather, what was left of it. An entire side had crumbled off from the blast. "I must admit, that was pretty good, and if I were still made of flesh and blood, I would probably be dead. Luckily for me though, I'm made entirely of stone. You'd need a spell one hundred times greater than that to destroy my entire body, and even then I'm sure I could just reassemble myself." He paused to summon more rocks to rebuild his head. Tash's back ached from the rough landing he had just received, and his head was still spinning from it as well. He could hardly make out what the mage was saying as he lay limp on the palm. "I guess you'll just have to face the fact that you lost. Now I think I'll get back to searching for that portal." His knees started to bend as he moved back down to search through the rubble again. Before he could make it all the way down, a blast of magical energy, the size of which had never been seen in the world of magic, made contact with the back of his head, destroying it completely. His body swung around as three beasts with wings flew over them. Tash blacked out just as the beasts spun around to return with another volley of destructive attacks.

The boy sprung to life ready for action, but found himself surrounded by trees instead of rock monsters and flying beasts. He spun around to find out where he was. It looked vaguely familiar, but he couldn't place it until he recognized the stone beneath him. "This is the entrance to the Earth Altar!" He slid off the rock and brushed his hand across it. It felt cold and was split down the middle. "How the hell did I get back here? Where'd that goliath go?" He looked around to see if it was possible that the mage made it back, but the forest still looked intact, not like a mountain walked through. "Wait, there were those flying things that came. Could it be possible that they defeated him? They managed to cast such a god like spell, how is that even possible? Their energy is completely improbable." He turned around to face the trees. "But it doesn't seem like I have that talisman anymore, not like it'd do me much good to try and go back. If he was still alive, I'd never be able to take him down." He started walking towards the parting in the trees that he followed to get here. "I guess I'll go back to Rich and see what he has to say."
