I think I stopped =P Got to like 16k or something.
Yup, there's nothing really official. Apparently winners have a chance to get a publisher look at their work and it may be published. But now I can get back to adding on this. :D

The morning sun glared into the room as a beacon signaling Tash to wake up. The boy looked down to his right where Magenta has fallen asleep at. While trying his best not to wake her, he slid out of the bed and onto the floor. Compared to the day before, his muscles felt a significantly less amount of pain and stress. He walked to the door and slowly opened it a crack and slithered out into the hallway.
"Up pretty early aren't we?" Rich grabbed Tash's shoulder as he walked down the hallway and spun him around. "You took quite a beating back there in Ardougne, didn't you?" He pulled out a satchel that jingled as he bounced it in his palm. "What exactly are the details behind this cat of yours, Daskal? Magenta told me what she could, but I'm assuming you know a hell of a lot more about it."
The boy grasped the coin pouch and put it into his own pocket. "Where are my belongings at?" Rich pointed to the staircase. "Follow me and I'll tell you all about it."
They entered the kitchen on the first floor where the weapons rested on a table in the corner. Tash lifted the white blade from the wooden surface and unsheathed it. The white metal glimmered in the light which breached the windows. He slid his free palm over the flat side of the blade.
"He was a stray cat wandering around in the alleyways of Varrock when I found him." Tash sighed. "You may say I'm crazy, but I can hear his voice in human tongue. When I first heard him, I thought a little kid was calling out to me, but it turned out to be a cat. I had no parents and no friends, so there was no one to tell me that it was unnatural at the time, so I took him home and went from there. He told me all about how he ended up as a stray, and how I was the first to pay attention to him. After a while we just became great friends."

Rich pulled a chair over from the main dining table and sat down. "That girl mentioned that you said you were able to hear him speak, and she also said that to her the cat sounded like he was just meowing." He rubbed a hand over his mouth. "Have you ever spoken to any other cats?"
The boy shook his head left to right. "There were mainly only dogs out on the streets in Varrock. If any cats were around, they were being kept inside people's houses. And I don't think I've come across a single cat over here. There may be a couple in Ardougne, but I haven't stayed long enough to check it out."
The two men sat in silence as Rich pondered the new information. "Y'know, this actually reminds me of an old story I heard on my travels. I was staying with a farmer out in the country for a few days, and the farmer's son had been messing with their cat a whole lot. So his mother scolded him and told him that Evil Bob would come and take him away to some backwards realm where cats rule over humans."
"Evil Bob? And how's a fairy tale from someone's mother supposed to mean anything?"

"I guess you've never heard the children's story about Bob the cat then." Rich chuckled to himself. "The story's been going around for years about some old cat named Bob that travels across the world going on odd adventures. From an adult's perspective, he actually sounds like quite the ladies man with all the stories about him saving female felines in distress. But back to the matter at hand, Evil Bob is supposed to be Bob's other self that rules in ScapeRune, that backwards realm I mentioned. There have been plenty of debates on whether or not a mirrored version of our own RuneScape actually exists, and I did stumble across a bit about Evil Bob. Up until now I've just dismissed him as a crazy old myth, but there's something about him that if he really exists could possibly be useful to you." Tash raised his eyebrow in interest. "They say he wears an amulet that lets him communicate to humans. Some sort of device that changes his voice into the human language."
Tash's interest faded as he leaned back against a wall. "How's that supposed to help me? I can already talk with cats."
"But Daskal can't talk back to you in his current form, can he?" Tash leaned forward again as he caught on to Rich's meaning. "If this Evil Bob is real, and you can somehow get in contact and then take his amulet from him, we could mess with it until we get Daskal talking again." The boy smiled widely as he thought about being able to hear Daskal's voice again. "The major problem would be finding a way to ScapeRune itself. The only accounts of anyone ever getting there have just been from crazed people claiming they were trapped in a prison of balloons, or set to work on a deserted island, which don't help all that much."

Tash clapped his hands together. "I'll leave the details to you, Rich. I'm sure you'll be able to find out everything. As for me, just give me the papers on that other mission you had for me. I'm good at fieldwork, and I really need something to keep my mind off this whole cat matter."
The man in the chair laughed. "And I almost thought you'd sit and wait for me to dig up some information." He shoved a hand into his pant's pocket and pulled out a bundle of notes. "Here it is." He tossed the papers to Tash. "Rumor has it that there's a mage that's found a rune altar." The boy looked back with a puzzled look. "Recently some wizards have been working on this theory about creating runes, something to explain how we can use so many runes and still never run out. They say it's done by infusing blank rune essence, the little stone disks, with the power of a rune altar which determines what sort of rune it makes. I didn't hear anything about how they're going about finding this rune essence, but the story with the mage who found an altar goes on about how he found some sort of talisman that lets him enter the realm of the altar."
"And you want me to kill this guy because?" Tash began sifting through the papers with a blank stare.
Rich leaned back in his chair. "Well the rumor goes on to say that this mage wants to use this altar to form some sort of super goliath and dominate the world."
The reason was now clear. "Alright, so where's this at, and what altar is it anyway?"
Rich laughed. "It's the earth altar, and it's in the eastern woods of Varrock. A tad bit of a travel wouldn't you say?"
Tash remained calm. "Actually, I think I know a much shorter way to get there."
