And plot ideas.... umm...

How about this:

A man is cursed by a wizard. He will slowly turn into a (insert animal type here), and he has to take off the curse before he turns completly.

This could be good, because we would have the mental torment, along with him slowly changing. So even walking upright could become a challenge.
