Just a very short story, hope you like it.

                                                               ~ ~ Time ~ ~
The hollow eyes of time burn from behind the bulrushes, as it waits beneath the polished surface of the river, and the innocent and cruel alike come to drink from the banks of the flowing water, hoping to quench their thirst enough to live another day. Most take their fill and leave, others are not so lucky.
The perfect divider, which reflects back the image of above, suddenly breaks with a malevolent clash, and the yellow-white of fearsome teeth rip through the air on the way to their newest victim.
Only now, with the crimson-soaked jaws of occasion upon them, does the creature understand the true nature of the beast. Only now, with the surface gone, can it see through the lies and into the blackened abyss of eternity. Then a choice is upon it: does it hold its breath and prepare for the worst, or take a chance, and flee, even if in vain?
The decision is instant, and the creature bolts, dashing from the truth with all its life, but still too late. Iron teeth sink through the flesh, then into the bone of its leg with a crunch, a struggle ensues, but it breaks free.
Sickly-sweet blood splatters along the ground as the animal limps further away, the fiery liquor mixing with the dust, creating a thick sanguine muck.
Time retreats below the surface, and the facade of water returns to its lustrous demeanour. Time smiles to itself, and licks the blood from its lipless mouth, savouring the taste of fear. It knows the creature will be back, only eternity itself lives forever.

A story i wrote a few years ago.
The Macros
John woke up to the sound of chopping. Was he hearing correctly? Yes, he was. He stood up and stretched, and peered out his window. To his surprise he saw several level 3 macros chopping away at his hard earned yew trees. Damn it, he thought, how did they get in here? I was sure i locked the portal... I must go get help right away. If those yews fall, my house may be next!
So John ventured to Varrock, and talked to the saw mill operator. He was an expert on wood, and knows many self defenses against macros, how else would he be able to keep his sawmill running otherwise?
I've got a favor to ask.
Yes? What do you want. And it better not be another request for free wood. I've told you, and everyone else, I can't give away free planks! It's bad for business.
It's not that. You see, some macros snuck into my house. They are destroying everything. When I left there were only 5 of my yew trees still standing. I need help to get rid of them, before they turn to the wooden structures of my house.
Ahh yes macros. I've dealt with them before. Here, take this sawdust. Sprinkle it in a trail. They can't resist it when it has my special ingrediant added. Lead it in a trail to some hobgoblins or something, and sit back and enjoy the show.
Thanks, and here is a little something for your efforts.
As John left for his home, the sawmill operator opened the sack that he was given, and to his surprise, he received 500 gold.
As John went home, he was worried sick. What if the macros had finished with the yews, and moved onto his house? His stomach lurched at the thought of his house collapsing on itself, and all hios valuables being lost. He tried not to think of thes things, but the thoughts kept coming back.
When he enhtered his portal, to his relief, the macros were still chopping away, but 2 trees still stood. Make that one.
He went to work right away. The sawdust was laid out in a trail and one by one, the macros all started

to follow it to their doom. John watched eagerly as the macros raeched the end of the trail. They turned, confused, then started heading back in the direction of his portal. Too late, as the hobgoblins had spotted the easy targets, and had moved in to kill their victims.
I should keep one of those as a pet, John thought to himself, they make really good guard dogs.
As John hurried home, he saw his house was completely intact. Several of his trees were merely stumps now, but he could buy new ones. The important thing was that the macros were gone, and he had several new portal lockls installed.
Finally, John rest his head down on his pillow. He looked over at the clock. 1 am... As he started to drift into a sleep, he heard another chopping sound. He looked outside the window, and saw one more macro. It had started to chop his new yews! Only one though, I'm sure I can take it down myself.
As he got out of bed in haste, he tripped over a bow and several arrows lying carelessly on the floor.
I don't remember leaving those there, he thought.
But he didn't care. He took careful aim and released the bowstring. The arrow flew and hit its target dead on.
That's the l;ast of them, he thought, as he turned the light off and finally went to sleep.
