Sorry about this wait. The computer I use to write, which according to my brother, isn't working. So, I'm currently on my family's laptop.

So, this might come as a great delay. It all varies if the computer comes around. Or if necessary, I'll continue writing on this laptop. It might be slower, considering it's quite uncomfortable to write on. And also the fact that I hardly see this. So, just felt the need to give you all the heads up.

Thanks for your patience. I do appreciate it.

^Thank you very much. ^^

After almost a month of absence...the newest chapter is up! I'mma leave it unedited until tomorrow because right now it's two o' clock in the morning and I'd like to get some sleep! o_o

Chapter 26: Into the Quandary

During the young day, the dark gray clouds give way like a stack of cards hit by the slightest touch to the radiant shine of the infinite sun. The light beamed down upon the heads of the group of Avdima. They march through the city, their footsteps loud like the greatest tumult in the ultimate silence that engulfed the city.

The group continued cutting through the quiet day, the clacking of their armour echo through the day. Not a single word spoke from anybody's lips, they all kept this serious look on their face. It was a mask that was screaming their thoughts...as if they were ready to die.

They pass many different buildings of golden shine, the ghosts of the past replay in the heads of those living. Moriah turns her head to the right, her pale blue irises look onto a play of the past. The hysterical men, women, and children plead their case before the judges in order to live. The judges' eyes glaring down upon the people as an nefarious grin crawled up their faces.

Their eyes bled tears like a chronic rainfall. They bowed on their hands and knees before the feet of the judges. Just as the weakened whimpers of the beggars weren't enough, a sudden demonic laughter uproars from the judges. Allister turned his head to his right, his eyes looking at the distracted Moriah. "Moriah," he called. "Stay focused."

Moriah snaps back into reality, she tilts her head slowly over to the prince. He looked back in front of the path in front of him and his group of loyal comrades. His thoughts of the future hied like a drag race. The group steadily waltzed down the long gray stone pathway which seemed to span a lifetime. After the long thirty minute travel, they reached the jaws into the city.

The gates stood eerily ajar, blown slightly back and forth by the gentle brush of the wind. Allister walked up to the gates, pressing his left hand onto the surface of the strong wood. He drew breath deep down into him, pushing it out his trachea and out into the world. His face rotates back to his comrade who stood just four feet behind him. "This is it everyone," he calmly stated. "Is everybody prepared?"

Everybody quickly shook their heads, ready for what lies before them. The prince pushes the city gates wide open, revealing the billions of blades of grass covered by the blood of many soldiers. The prince sets foot first onto the grass, small raindrops start falling down on his head. They splash on his hair and run down his face.

The group walk down the field of war, the rain crashing onto the ground like a barrage of arrows. They start the long walk to the Kingdom of Iericho, where so many have died. They step on top of a tall hill of emerald green grass that wasn't cloaked by a single drop of blood.

The once shining orb of light that illuminated the world has lost the battle against the rainclouds, they surround and imprison the light in the dark gray arms. As the enemy of the brightest star launched it's soldiers to invade the world below, the soldiers of Avdima gaze upon the face of their enemy's city.

The city remained silent and the blight was very much still alive. They saw the city of Iericho, the home of the great threat to the existence of humanity. They were ready - to fight, to battle, and if necessary...to die.

Inside the walls of the city of Iericho, the shadow of death sat in his throne chair. His hands tightly clenched the handles of his chair, his black hooded cloak caped the chair. His glowing red eyes peer out into the world around him. Before the Ultimate Disease was Richard, bowing on his knees.

Richard's infuriated eyes looked to the ripped and tattered red carpet beneath his feet. His right hand in front of his knees, kissing the very same carpet. "My lord," he said. "It would appear Avdima is on their way here."

"Excellent," he said, his voice as frosty as death. The specter grew to his feet, his robe reached down his the tips of his toes. His blonde hair coming out from the darkness underneath his hood. "I shall make my way to Avdima."

Richard seemed surprised at Zin's decision. He turned his face up towards Zin. "You're...fleeing?" he questioned. "They're a bunch of weak fools and you - the all powerful Zin - choose to-"

Suddenly, Richard is lifted off of his feet. It felt as if a rope hung around his neck, tightly squeezing the life out of him. "You dare to mock me, dog!?" angrily roared Zin, his voice raged like a tsunami. "Why do you continue to push me? Time and time again, your impudent tongue knows no bounds."

Richard latches his hands onto the collar of his coat. "I mean no disrespect..." he painfully spoke. "Sir..."

A diabolical chuckle erupted from the blackened face of the god of blight. "Do not lie to me," quickly said the specter. "We both know of your deep malice!"

Richard grit his teeth in frustration. "What ever...do you mean, sir?" he asked under the grit of his teeth.

"It need not matter," spoke Zin with a confident bloom in his voice. "I intend to keep those fools alive."

"Why, sir...?" he growled. "You have no understanding of what they are capable of!"

Zin grew utterly angered. "Silence!!" he roared, causing Richard to crash down hard onto the ragged red carpet below their feet. The narcissist's back slams furiously onto the ground, causing him to cry out whimpers of pain. The skin on his face tightly crunch up together. His mouth hanging open and his right hand shaking as it touches his lower back. "YOU clearly lack the understanding if I had to choose anyone!"

"I...only intend the best..." he growled, his pain flooded with agony.

"Surely that is the truth," Zin spoke, the anger and rage that once gripped him had been lost. "Oh...but unbeknownst to your 'friends' of Avdima, they are doing me a favor. Indeed, bringing back from the grips of death my brother, my alter ego, my oppose is truly a favor of the wildest sort."

Richard's mind flashes with thoughts of uncertainty. "You knew..." he spoke. "...You knew this whole time!?..."

An iniquitous grin cloaked Zin's face. "Of course," he answered. "Why else would those mortals still be alive?"

"What...do you intend...to do with them?" he fearfully questioned.

"They can reach Adrian and take the Tablet to Zion's body. Once they return to their kingdom, they will notice that their world shall be lost in flames. They shall confront me and that is when I will see to it that their lives are put to rest." he calmly explained.

"You're not gonna win..." he quickly riposted, opening his eyes and turning his head up to look at the shadow. "You've already l-"

Once his head looked up at the Ultimate Disease, his voice ceases. His eyes turn piercingly wide and his facial expression froze on a look of disbelief. A sword impaled in his abdomen, blood raced down his navy blue greatcoat. "Were you about to say I have already lost?" questioned Zin. "I'm afraid to say that you're wrong and thus...your life is now at an end."

"W-why?..." he weakly murmured.

"Because of one simple fact, Richard. And I'm sure even you can figure it out," he replied. "I no longer have a use for you."

"I'm afraid you truly have lost..." he softly spoke. "Face it Zin...your 'judgment' will never come true!"

Zin smirks confidently. "Die believing what you wish," he stated, pulling the sword out from Richard. "Your cause is forsaken."
