After about 30 minutes, the trebuchets and catapults were up and fully operational. I’ve never seen equipment put up that fast. Neo’s engineers were clearly experts. The army was still behind the engineers, quietly waiting for the opposing army to approach. “Load the artillery!” I heard Neo yell. Each rig had a pulley system that utilized the strength of many men to put big boulders into the devices. I raised my hand, about to give the order to fire, when we heard great clanking sound in the distance. “Their lowering their drawbridge.” Jaya said coldly. “They are on to us.”
I gave a scowl and turned back to the engineers. “Fire!” I yelled with all my might. “And don’t stop til the walls come down!” Snapping sounds were heard as the mechanisms released. Giant boulders flew over the tree line, sailing high up into the sky, only to come down upon the great wall that protected Saradomin. Unfortunately only about one fourth of the rocks actually hit the wall. A few hit the ground in front of it, landed in the moat, or just sailed over the wall, hopefully causing some unseen damage. The rocks that hit the wall however, exploded with shocking force. A few archers instantly died or fell, but not as much as I’d hoped. This might take a while, I just hope the rest of us are up to the challenge.
That’s when we saw them. Pouring out of the portcullis drawbridge came an army cloaked in light blue. Most of them were men, but some of them were not. Some were spiritual mages and spiritual soldiers, as well as animals like giants wolfs and bears, who surprisingly marched in formation with the troops. These animals had to be hypnotized or something. At the front of the army, walking on all fours, was an animal that appeared to be a mix between a wolf and a dagannot*. “Growler.” Gasped Jaya. Oreo shook his head. “It looks like Saradomin is sicking his pets on us.” A chill went up my spine. “If Growler’s here, then Bree and Starlight can’t be far behind."
