, none have bitten the hard straw yet”. “Goblins!” shouted omek “hellfull scornful omens, brainless though strong by nature, I think I can handle it”. “It’s just south of the cow fields you can’t miss it near the chicken pens” said Hans. “What sort of reward is in it for me if I am risking my life” asked Omek. “I’m not entirely sure, an audience with the duke, so that means money, Coins gold, silver, trinkets!”. “I must thank you Hans, you have been very helpful”. “So you’re going?” asked Hans. “Yes I’m going, right now”. “I’ll let the guards know, that there is a mighty Karlean afoot us, and he is dealing with the house”. Omek walked off. Hans threw a white rose at him as he walked away and shouted “God speed, Omek”.
Chapter two
It was a long walk to the bridge. He took in the new scenery it was delightful for Omek, the blue sky seemed natural and the sun to the north lay ever so quaintly as day slipped by. Omek passed many houses and folks on the way. He found a spot by a river to rest for the night he was about halfway to the bridge. The area he chose was surrounded in trees. He decided it was time to put his new axe to the test he chopped at an evergreen tree and in three hacks he cut of a large branch cutting it off into sections. He then pruned the branches for faggots and started to pile them up in a orderly fashion. It was not quite nightfall so it wasn’t time to light it at the present moment. He walked on down the slope to the river. There was a man sitting with his rod fly fishing. “Ere for the fishes eh” said the man. His armor was bronze and his helmet sword and shield lay next to him on the ground. “Here for the trout of the labor, only have this net though so I’ll see what I end up with”. “you’ll only catch shrimps or mackerel with that mate, good enough if you’re a possie, yer wanting your trout of the river, or salmon of the fresh, I gots some hear one gp and I’ll give ye a trout and a salmon”.
