Chapter 16: Granny, what big eyes you have!

Karil 'tried' walking through town to kangix's house. Guards however, thought he was a thief and thus they chased karil through town until finally karil managed to shake them. For any other person this wouldn't have been a big deal, but seeing as karil prided himself on helping others, this actually hurt his feelings a bit.

Karil slunked his way over to kangix's house and knocked on the door, kangix opened the door and looked at karils eyes, instantly knowing it was him because of his eyes. "Karil, what are you wearing?" karil smiled and said.

"Well, this armour and this crossbow, these are gifts from the empress, an award for my heroic actions on the battle field!"

Kangix smiled and said "Well then what are you doing here? shouldn't you be fighting?"

Karil spoke quickly and said "Well, i would, but i'm not only just fighting, i'm a warlord, you know, i'm leading a full legion, well when we have a new legion of men anyway.."

Kangix rubbed his head and then said "Oh well in that case i suppose you don't think you're strong enough to lead your men amiright? Karil nodded.

Kangix looked around and said quietly "I have a friend who could make you see even farther and more clearly then you can already, are you willing to 'exchange' your eyes for new ones?"

Karil looked shocked he swallowed his gut and said "Yea sure why not? it will make me the better warrior i suppose, and i can't let my brothers out do me can i?" He said with a smile.

Kangix and karil packed a small amount of food and water and began walking towards a mountain, they walked for nearly half the day before they made it to the base of the mountain, they spent another 3-4 hours walking the rest of the way up the mountain.

On their way up it was a challenge for them to walk due to the unforgiving flakes of snow constantly assaulting them.

They even ran into a pack of wolfs, but they allowed them to pass unharmed, seeing as they just had a snack of 2 large dear. And what looked like an explorer's arm laid on the ground and two wolves played tug of war with it.

they continued to the peak, where they saw a heavily armmed and armoured aviansie, it's wings had a coating of mithril for leight weight worthy protection. The rest of her was a coated with specially treated steel, it was more powerful then mithril, but also heavier. Karil leaned over to kangix and mumbled "She's beautiful.." kangix nodded.

Kangix walked forward and said loudly and cheerfully "Lora!" the aviansie quickly turned and held a spear to kangix's throat, she looked at him for about 5 seconds before lowering it and giving kangix a hug. Needless to say, hugging someone wearing heavy metal armour in the snow doesn't give you that warm and happy feeling.

She slanted her head to the side put her hands on her hips and said playfully "So you still waste runescapes oxygen?"

Kangix smiled and said "Indeed i do, because i'm greedy y'know!" "But i have come here for you to help my friend. You see he wants to totally master archery, and to do that he needs the eyes of an aviansie"

She went deeply into thought for a moment and said "I do have two, he could use, but there is a risk he will simply be blind due his body not accepting the new eyes"

Karil said boldly "That's fine i'll deal with it, lets just try"

She walked over to karil, and plunged a dagger into the side of his left eye, karil began grinding his teeth and made a noise that sounded like a whining dog. "One out.." lora said. before sticking the dagger into the next eye. He couldn't help but to scream some this time, no, the whole time. "Ok they're both out, be thankful you arent a spider" karil smiled but was in too much pain to laugh.

She took two eyes that she kept in a pack "I always keep the eyes of my fallen warriors, they're too risky to leave witht he enemy"

Karil smiled again and said "Well that explains alot"

"Yep" lora said calmly. She then pulled karils tendons and stuck them into the back of the aviansie eyes and then the stuck them into karils eye sockets.

Karil wabbled for a minute and said "I can't see anything"

"Give it some time" said kangix through a slightly worried voice.

About 15 minutes of silence passed and karil said "I don't think it's going to work"

"Hmm.. let me try something" said lora. She punched karil in the side of the head as hard as she could, which was hard enough to knock karil out. He woke up 2 minutes later and said "WOW! i can see but i see way to much"

Lora* face grew slightly angry and said "What do you mean?"

Karil looked around wide eyed for a minute and said "I can see grains of dirt on your feathers" "I can see all the way the outskirts of town" "Hell, this is awesome..."

Lora seemed happy, as it's hard to smile with a beak. "I must get back to guarding this post now you two, and kangix, what's in your bag? it smells good.."

Kangix handed her the bag and said "Almost forgot to give it to you, anyway, just some warm food." they waved and said good bye as karil and kangix headed back towards town and lora ate her warm meal.
