Chapter 12 – A Shadow of his Former Self
Creed stumbled on the rocks as he walked forwards. He had made it to a small cave near Hemmenster windmill. He could hear nothing but a cold, dead silence. He went inside and luckily, the cave was candlelit – but that also meant it would be inhabited. Suddenly, a goblin leaped out of the corner. He sliced it in half in the air and he yelled as he cut down a whole group of them. He wasn’t in the mood to lose any more fights. He figured all the goblins were gone, and so he sat down to rest.
Death Fire was asleep onboard a ship. The ship bounced up and down along the waves, heading east to Catherby. It was going to be a long journey home. He had lost a lot of blood and had barely survived – luckily he saw a hay cart and jumped in the back. Tanis had a badly wounded left leg. Up top, Valicus stood upon the watch pen on the mast. He could not see anything due to the storm. He got tired and then began to climb back down the mast, happy that they were not to be engaged.
King Roald was thinking. He was laid upon his bed, hoping for a bit of news that he liked – Like, General Ransar Usek dies of poisen, or Taran “The Hard Hitter” fell off a ship. But no. He had just received news of the loss of Arougdene and was extremely annoyed. He looked over to his generals. “Get Tanis, Valicus and Death Fire ready onboard the ships. As soon as your ready sail them to Arougdene under the cover of night.*
*It** time we finished the RCR’s Elite.”
